Eligibility for SSC Stenographer Exam 2022

Age limit

For the candidates applying for Grade C, the age should be between 18 to 30 years. For Grade D, the age of the candidate must be between 18 to 27 years. There is an age relexation for candidates of certain categories. The details are provided below:

Educational qualifications

The candidate must have passed the 10+2 (Class XII) level of schooling/HSC or its equivalent degree from a recognized University or Board. 

Nationality

The applicant must be a citizen of India and should be residing in any one of the state or union territory of India. Even other candidates can also apply and the details for that are below:

  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who sought asylum in India before January 1, 1962.
  • A person with Indian origin who has transferred from one of the following countries: Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, etc.

 

Exam pattern for SSC Stenographer Exam 2022

The exam comprises two stages - Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is conducted in online mode and has multiple choice questions. Paper 2 is about testing skills related to typing, stenography of a candidate. The duration to answer questions in Paper 1 is two hours and total number of questions are 200 and total marks are 200.

Paper 2 is about testing the typing, stenography skills of a candidate where they have to type the required content in a given time frame. Details about the exam pattern for both the stages are provided below for the sake of the candidates:
