The academy is affiliated to Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University - (AKTU, Lucknow). It has been approved by AICTE and is accredited by NAAC. IILM was then set up as a magnificent institution to impart quality education in the field of Engineering and Management.

Candidates willing to take direct admission under the management quota, must meet the eligibility criteria as per the University norms and must possess availed rank of either UPSEE-AKTU, IIT JEE Advanced Entrance Examination or Internal Online Exam and PI . Such candidates can directly apply online or by visiting the college.

Seats in AKTU will be 85% of total intake and remaining 15% seats will be filled by college as management quota seats which are filled through other examination (s) specified in G.O.no 2073/2003-16-1 - 78/91 T.C.-1, Lucknow dated 20 June, 2003. ILM has a modern, eco-friendly, fully networked campus with optical fiber cable connectivity between buildings. It has an-of-the-art IT infrastructure, computing and communication resources, electronic access controls and a payment system through smart cards.
Utilities and services such offered by the college are cafeteria, food courts, ATM, medical center, campus shop, telephone kiosk, xerox facility, open-air theatre are also located within the campus for easy lifestyle for the in house students.
The college life also focuses on extra curricular activities to make the lives of the students much better. There are clubs and societies to help the students grow as a person and explore their personality to the fullest. There are societies in the college like computer society of India and Sahyog.
Also, they have a few technical and non technical clubs. Some of the technical clubs are Electro Sapien, Auto tech club, Phoenix, Geocon, and IBIOC. The non technical clubs of the college are Pixivil, Management club, Turbo club, literary club, Xpressions, Sahyog, and E cell.
The classrooms and tutorial rooms are equipped with audio-visual aids and have Internet connectivity. This also makes it quite evident that the college campus is a fully wi-fi enabled campus. They have 3 air-cooled lecture theatres, two with a seating capacity of more than three hundred and one with a seating capacity of about two hundred and fifty, with modern audio and video presentation systems.
