School of Petroleum Management has been one of the top-notch colleges in its sector. The Management School was first rooted as the Institute of Petroleum Management, Gandhinagar (IPMG) in 2006 as an aegis of Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute (GERMI), which was established as a trust and a society by GSPC (Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation), a Government of Gujarat Undertaking.
In the following year of 2007, GERMI established Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), and IPMG became a constituent of PDPU; the name of the college was changed to School of Petroleum Management (SPM). The college dwells with a vision of being an internationally renowned national figure and serving as the torchbearer in quality management education.
SPM strives to provide the most and diversified form of Energy Engineering and make intellectuals who can fulfil their social obligations by making energy-efficient and environmentally viable machines. The institute has its prime objective of acting as the hub of research in the field of energy efficiency for the national and international practitioners.
In this respect, many internationally acclaimed universities have signed treaties of intellectual agreement with the School of Petroleum Management and serve as assets in its cause of rising as an energy management superpower.

1. Merit-cum-Means Scholarships (50% Tuition Fee waiver) available as per the university scholarship policy for M.B.A. Students. A maximum of 10 Merit-cum-Means Scholarships (50% Tuition Fee waiver) are available as per the PDEU scholarship policy for the School of Management. The policy stipulates that the family income (from all sources) of the candidate in the previous financial year should not exceed INR 10 Lakhs. Also, to be considered for the scholarship process, the candidate should have scored a minimum 85th percentile in CAT/XAT/NMAT/MAT applicable for admissions for the session 2024-25. Other details shall be shared with candidates during the admission process.
2. Merit Scholarships (50% Tuition Fees Waiver) to meritorious SoM students from the batch 2023-25 onwards. These are pure merit scholarships without any maximum annual income criterion for parents/family. To be eligible for the scholarship, the students are required to fulfil the following criteria: CAT/XAT/NMAT/MAT percentile score should be 85 and above. Four meritorious selected applicants, as per these scores, who are admitted to the MBA Programme (batch 2024-26) after fulfilling all admission eligibility criteria, shall be the recipients of this
scholarship.
3. Scholarships to Defence Personnel / CAPF: To honour the sacrifices made by our Defence Personnel /CAPF towards the nation, respect the fallen heroes and also serve as a means of support for their families, the following scholarship is proposed.
(a) 100% waiver of Tuition fees to wards of Gallantry Award winners, wards of Veer Naris
Or those who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation, i.e fatal battle casualties.
(b) 50% concession in tuition fees to wards of war-injured / war disabled soldiers of the defence forces
forces and CAPF
(c) 50% concession in tuition fees to wards of soldiers whose annual income is less than 8
lakhs.
For continuation of the scholarship in subsequent terms, students must maintain a GPA of
3.2 (out of 4) and above in all subsequent terms.
Eligible students are required to attend classes actively & regularly, and should follow the School
& University discipline norms, and show exemplary behaviour during the MBA
Programme. If selected and admitted to the SoM-PDEU MBA 2024-26 batch, applicants may
be eligible to be considered for the Merit Scholarships. The final decision about the four
scholarship recipients shall be made purely on merit.
A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) or equivalent CGPA, of any University incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956.
The Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.
In case of the candidates being awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the university/ institution from which they have obtained a bachelor's degree.
In case a candidate establishes that the university/ institution from which he/she graduated does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by the SoM by dividing the earned CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the quotient by 100.

The SOM follows a rolling admission process for admission into the Executive MBA programme. The rolling admission means the applications are processed as and when received and benchmarked against the absolute standard for making the admission decision. Therefore, the admissions would conclude when the batch size is met, and subsequent applications shall be considered only for the next batch.
LIBRARY
The Library and Information Centre (LIC) is the heart of the Institute to provide production & dissemination of knowledge, information, insights & intellect. The centre has utilised Information Technology extensively to ensure that resources are accessible from anywhere at any time. Services such as OPAC for checking online availability and reserving online, a bio-metric reader, remote access to e-resources and database make the LIC user-friendly. LIC holds a collection of printed as well as electronic resources, which include books, journals, databases, CDs/DVDs, e-journals, reports, case studies, conference proceedings, training manuals, etc.
The on-campus, fully-furnished residential facility extends the flexibility of conducting all types of academic and extracurricular activities. There is a separate hostel facility for girls.
