Anatomy Course 2023 Courses taught in Anatomy in medical schools across India at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels entail the study of the structure of organisms and their parts. Budding physicians and surgeons are taught at the Bachelor's level about various aspects such as embryology, comparative anatomy, evolutionary biology and phylogeny as these are the processes by which anatomy is generated over immediate and long time scales.
Course work is divided into microscopic and macroscopic anatomy and students are introduced to the various optical instruments used for the study of tissues of various structures. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is a 5.5-year programme.
Coursework also involves understanding the functions of the organs and the structures of the human body. Students are taught to examine by dissecting carcases and cadavers apart from using new age techniques such as X-ray, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging. One can pursue MD in Anatomy after finishing MBBS.
