Oncology Course 2023 Courses taught in Oncology entail the study of medicine dealing with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Budding oncologists are familiarised with ways of diagnosing cancer successfully and determining the stage at which it is with utmost accuracy.
Apart from this, they also learn how to suggest most appropriate treatment options and recommend the best treatment plan for the patient. They are familiarised with the various types of specialisations in oncology which is medical, surgical, radiation and paediatric.
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is a 5.5-year programme.Furthermore, they get to choose the kind of oncologist they would be most comfortable being out of medical oncologist, surgical oncologist, radiation oncologist, pathologist, radiologist and organ-specific oncologist. You have to do MD in Medicine after finishing MBBS and only then do you become eligible to pursue Doctor of Medicine in Medical Oncology.
