About Rheumatology Course

Rheumatology Course 2023 Courses taught in Rheumatology entail the study of internal medicine meant to diagnose and treat rheumatic diseases. Budding physicians aspiring to be successful rheumatologists are trained to deal with clinical problems involving joints, soft tissues, autoimmune diseases, vasculitis and heritable connective tissue disorders.

Many of these are disorders of the immune system. Rheumatologists are also tasked with conducting research to determine the cause and identifying better treatments for these diseases which at times even become fatal. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is a 5.5-year programme.

Furthermore, coursework covers ways of treating arthritis, autoimmune diseases pain disorders affecting joints and osteoporosis. Close to 200 types of such diseases are covered including gout, lupus, back pain, tendinitis,osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis etc. You can pursue Doctor of Medicine in General Medicine after finishing MBBSafter which you become eligible to enroll for the 3-year Rheumatology program.

Rheumatology Course Eligibility

UG: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with at least 50% marks in aggregate with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as core subjects. Independent entrance tests for UG programme (MBBS) are conducted by various state, central and private universities.

Candidates should hold a degree in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) along with a MD (Medicine) to apply for the 3 year DM (Rheumatology) program.
Candidates are must go through the eligibility criteria properly before applying for admission in any university or college.
Every applying candidates must have complted MD/MS or an equivalent degree from any recognized college or university.
The candidate must have scored an aggregate of 55% in graduation.
The candidates have to appear for the entrance test preferably NEET SS or equivalent entrance exam prescribed by the particular college/university.
