COMMON ENGINEERING ENTRANCE TEST AND ADMISSIONS Offline

CEETA PG 2023 Eligibility criteria

The eligibility condition to apply for the exam is a pass in graduation in the relevant discipline from a recognised educational institution. For example, students desiring to apply for MArch through the test must be a pass in BArch in the graduation. Students who are about to appear for the exams or have appeared and waiting for the results can also apply.

However, they have to pass the qualifying  exam and provide a proof for it by the time of admission process commencement. Students who dont provide the proof will have to face rejection from the admission process. More information is being provided below in a tabular format for the sake of the students:

a. A pass in a recognised Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the relevant field and obtained at least 50% (45% in the case of BC,BCM,MBC,SC,SCA and ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu) in the qualifying degree examinations.

i. B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch. Degree Programmes (or)

ii. B.Pharm Degree Programmes (or)

iii. Master’s Degree in the relevant branch of Science / Arts, which are prescribed.

b. Candidates with Section 'A' & 'B' certificates (e.g. AMIE) of the Institution of Engineers and other similar certificates of various professional bodies viz. Aeronautical Society of India etc., recognised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India and enrolled before 31.05.2013 are considered to be equivalent to B.E. / B.Tech. Degree holders, only with 2 years regular full time experience in the relevant field after successful completion of the course including project work. An experience certificate shall be produced by the candidates.

i. 10 + 2 + AMIE (or)

ii. 10 + 3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE.

CEETA PG 2023 Exam Pattern

The exam will be conducted in offline mode that is in pen and paper mode and this is where candidates have to register their answers on a separate answer sheet. Duration to answer the questions is two hours. Format of questions is multiple choice where every question will have more than one answer and the right one among that has to be chosen to score marks.

Subjects for questions in the test will be graduate lessons of the subject in which the candidate wishes to pursue postgraduation. There is negative marking and every wrong answer would lose 1/3rd mark and every correctly answered question gets one mark. The paper will have three parts, some of the questions will be common to all subjects, while some others would be related to the particular subject chosen by the candidate. 

The entrance test question paper for M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan. will have two common parts, Part – I Engineering Mathematics and Part – II Basic Engineering & Sciences, and Part – III meant for respective disciplines. On evaluation, the average marks may vary from discipline to discipline under Part – III. More information is provided in the tabular format below:
