Eligibility criteria for TNTET 2022

The eligibility criteria depends on the type of the exam the candidates is trying to apply. The exam has Paper 1 and Paper 2 and eligibility depends upon the paper he or she wishes to apply. 

Paper 1

The conditions of eligibility are mentioned below and applicants must have anyone of them:

1. Candidate should have passed graduation with 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of the bachelor of education B.Ed.

  1. The candidate must have passed a senior secondary certificate with at least 45% minimum marks and passed or appearing for the final year of 2-Year diploma in elementary education approved by NCTE regulations 2002.
  2. The candidates should have passed higher secondary with 50% marks and passed or appearing in 2-year diploma in Elementary education.
  3. The candidate should have passed higher secondary with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in elementary education (B.El.Ed.).
  4. The candidate must have completed or been in the final year of a four-year diploma in education or special education and have received at least 50 per cent of the marks in Higher Secondary or equivalent.
  5. The candidate must have completed high school and passed or be in the last year of a two-year elementary education diploma programme.

Paper 2

The conditions of eligibility are mentioned below and applicants must have anyone of them:

  1. Any candidate who has qualified B.Ed. recognized by NCTE is eligible to appear in TET.
  2.  The candidate should graduate and pass or appearing for the final year of a 2-year diploma in elementary education.
  3.  The candidate should graduate with at least 50% marks and pass or appearing in the final year of B.Ed.
  4.  The candidate should graduate with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of B.Ed. as per the NCTE regulations.
  5. The candidate should have passed higher secondary with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year B.El.Ed.
  6. The candidate should have passed higher secondary with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year B.A./B.Sc. Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc. Ed.
  7. The candidate should have done graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of B.Ed. (Special Education).

Exam pattern for TNTET 2022

The exam has two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. The number of questions in both are 150 and total marks for Paper 1 and Paper 2 is 150 each. The duration to answer all the questions is three hours each and each question gets 1 mark when given a correct reply. There is no negative marking in the exam and wrongly replied questions do not lead to mark deduction. The format is being given below for both the papers for the sake of the candidates:
