Overview
AMET CET is the entrance test of Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET University), a deemed university at Kanathur, Chennai. The admissions page lists it as the test for undergraduate programmes, the School of Management Studies and the DG Shipping courses, and uses its score together with Class 12 marks to prepare a rank list. B.E. Marine Engineering and B.Sc. Nautical Science also require IMU CET (or a JEE or state engineering score), and the AMET test does not replace it. The test is conducted online. For the 2027 intake the admissions page says applications are available from 1 December 2026 and the test is held in two phases, April and May, with dates to be informed. The page labels the test "AMETCET 2026"; no 2027 dates were published on 16 October 2026.
