How the predictor works
1. Your rank against every seat
Each MCC seat type (college, course, quota and category) has the last rank it went to in each round. Your AIR is compared with all of them.
2. Only the seats you can take
Open seats for everyone, your category's seats on top, PwD seats if you have a disability, and special quotas only when you say you are eligible.
3. Colleges by chance
Good chance first, then Possible, then Tough; within each, the most competitive college leads.
Which seats it covers
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) allots the 15% All India Quota seats in government medical and dental colleges, every seat in AIIMS and JIPMER, the central universities' seats (BHU, AMU, Jamia, Delhi University and IP University), deemed universities, the insured persons quota of ESIC colleges, and B.Sc Nursing seats in central institutions. Those are the seats this predictor covers.
The other 85% of government seats (the state quota) and private colleges' seats are allotted by your state's counselling, with its own domicile rules, rounds and cutoffs. Most students take part in both: MCC and their home state.
Questions about the NEET college predictor
How does the NEET college predictor work?
It compares your NEET All India Rank with the ranks at which MCC allotted every seat in 2026 (Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, Stray vacancy round), for your category, course and the quotas you are eligible for. A college is listed when a seat there went to a rank at or near yours.
Should I enter my All India Rank or my category rank?
Your All India Rank (AIR). MCC allots every seat in AIR order, including OBC, EWS, SC, ST and PwD seats, so the predictor compares your AIR with the AIR at which each seat closed.
What do Good chance, Possible and Tough mean?
Good chance: Your rank is at least 10% better than the last rank that got this seat. Possible: Your rank is within last year's closing rank. Tough: Just after last year's closing rank, or only reached in the stray round.
Does it include state quota seats?
No. It covers the seats MCC allots: the 15% All India Quota in government colleges, AIIMS, JIPMER, central universities, deemed universities, ESIC colleges' insured persons quota and B.Sc Nursing. The 85% state quota and private college seats are allotted by each state's own counselling, with its own domicile rules and cutoffs.
How accurate is the prediction?
It shows where each seat closed in MCC 2026. Cutoffs move every year with the number of candidates, the difficulty of the paper and the seats added, so use it as a guide to fill your choices: include colleges from every band, not only the good chances.
What is the stray vacancy round?
MCC's last round, for the seats still vacant after Round 3. Only candidates the rules allow take part (broadly, those not holding a seat), so its closing ranks are far higher than the regular rounds'. A college reached only in the stray round is shown as Tough.
Why do deemed universities close at such high ranks?
Their MBBS and BDS seats are paid seats with far higher fees than government colleges, so many candidates with good ranks do not choose them. They fill at higher ranks, especially in the later rounds.
Is the NEET college predictor free?
Yes. It is free to use. The first time you predict, we ask for your name and mobile number, confirmed with a code on WhatsApp, so a CollegeChalo counsellor can help you with counselling if you want.
