GITAM GAT 2027

GITAM runs GAT in rolling phases. Each phase has its own last date to apply, exam, results and admission dates, and the admissions page shows one phase at a time. The 2026 and 2025 columns list phases as they appeared on the official page; GITAM does not label a phase with its cycle year, so phases are grouped by calendar period (2026 cycle: November 2025 to July 2026; 2025 cycle: March to August 2025). Only last-to-apply and exam dates are listed from phases where the page also showed inconsistent later dates.

Eligibility is set by programme. The rows below give the latest programme page found for each group, with its year. The 2027 eligibility rules are not published.

No 2027 pattern is published. The latest complete pattern on the official GAT pages is that of GAT 2024 (academic year 2024-25), shown below and marked (2024). For 2026 GITAM's admissions page says only that B.Tech is a 2-hour computer-based test of 100 MCQs covering Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with no negative marking, and that BBA and BCA test English, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning.

• Computer-based test at a centre, in English; every question is multiple choice with four options and one correct answer; question sets are drawn from a question bank, so candidates get different sets of equal standard.
• No negative marking: wrong and unanswered questions score nil (2024 instructions; 2026 page for B.Tech).
• In 2024 some sections were gamified assessments (motion, grid, switch, digit and English challenges), marked with an asterisk on the pattern tables.
• Ties are broken by marks in mathematics or biology, then physics, then chemistry, then age (2024 instructions).

UG Management and Humanities (2024)

• English Language: verbal reasoning, sentence completion, fill in the blanks, one word substitution, contextual usage, syllogisms, sentence correction, idioms, analogies, jumbled paragraphs.
• Numerical and Data Analysis: geometry, work and time, number system, percentages, HCF and LCM, averages, algebra, profit and loss, ratios and proportion, linear and quadratic equations, geometric progression, time, speed and distance.
• Reasoning and Intelligence: coding and decoding, visual reasoning, pie charts, puzzles, arrangements, strong and weak arguments, family tree, numeric grid, blood relations, critical reasoning, calendars, syllogisms.
• General Knowledge: government and politics, famous personalities, business, economy, history, static GK, geography, current affairs.

PG Management, GBAT (2024)

Five sections of 40 questions: language comprehension (grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, para jumble); mathematics (percentages, interest, time and work, number system, permutations and combinations, sequences and series); intelligence and critical reasoning; Indian and global environment (current affairs, business, finance, awards, politics); data analysis and sufficiency (tables, charts, Venn diagrams, data sufficiency).

GAT score bands set the merit scholarship on first-year tuition. The scholarship applies to the first year only and continues in later years while the CGPA is 8.0 or more. Seats under the scholarship quota are first-come-first-served; when the quota is full a candidate can still be admitted without a scholarship. The slabs differ by programme page, and the tables below are those printed for 2026-27.

For comparison, the 2025-26 B.Tech page gave 100% for a GAT 2025 score of 141 to 200, 75% for 131 to 140, 60% for 121 to 130, 40% for 111 to 120, 25% for 101 to 110 and 15% for 86 to 100. The general admissions page lists a separate GAT score range: 90% and above 100%, 80 to 89.99% 75%, 70 to 79.99% 50%, 60 to 69.99% 25%; the two official pages differ and both are reported here.

Other scholarships

• Need-based upgrade: a 75%, 60%, 40%, 25% or 15% merit slab is raised to 100%, 75%, 60%, 40% or 25% when parents' combined income is below Rs 12 lakh a year (tuition Rs 2 lakh or more) or below Rs 8 lakh (tuition below Rs 2 lakh); tax documents are needed.
• Sports scholarships (100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, 15%), employee-children scholarships (60%, 40%, 20%) and a 10% loyalty scholarship; the combined total may not exceed 75%.

GITAM states that GAT serves UG and PG admission at its Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru campuses. The Visakhapatnam list below follows the programme pages and the programme finder; the GAT pages do not itemise programmes by campus, so Hyderabad and Bengaluru are shown as a group. Medical (MBBS, MD, MS), nursing and allied health programmes of the GIMSR campus are not part of the GAT list on this page. Some GITAM programmes accept national or state scores instead of GAT, and the MBA uses GBAT.

GITAM states that eligible candidates can apply on national or state test scores and that the same scholarship slabs apply. The tests listed on the programme pages for the Visakhapatnam campus, by group, are below. GBAT is GITAM's own business aptitude test for the MBA, run with GAT.
