Overview
The JAIN Entrance Test (JET) is the online, proctored written test that JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Bengaluru, uses for its own admissions. The FET page calls it a national level university entrance exam, but the pages checked list no institution other than JAIN that accepts the score. The university runs separate JET tracks for undergraduate programmes, B.Tech, M.Tech, the MBA at CMS Business School and other postgraduate programmes, each with its own paper and interview. For 2027, applications are open on the university portals but the university has not published any JET 2027 test date (checked 15 October 2026).

B.Tech
The FET page exempts candidates who have secured a rank in IIT (JEE), EAMCET, KCET, COMEDK or Uni-GAUGE from the online entrance exam. The JET committee can change or revoke the exemption. JEE Main scores also feed a scholarship of up to 25% of first-year tuition for candidates with at least 60% in Class 12.
M.Tech
GATE-appeared candidates are exempt from the entrance test and a valid state-level entrance score also exempts a candidate from JET; the personal interview remains. GATE-qualified candidates are eligible for a scholarship of 50% of the first-year tuition fee (one seat per branch).
MBA
| Competitive exam | Minimum score for exemption from the written test |
|---|---|
| MAT | 550 and above |
| NMAT | 160 and above |
| GMAT | 475 and above |
| CAT | 50 percentile and above |

Selection Stages After the JET Written Test
JET is the first stage; the later stages depend on the track.
- Undergraduate programmes: online written test, extempore or pick-and-speak, and a personal interview. Admission to all programmes is on merit and the rank obtained in the entrance process, subject to the Class 12 eligibility.
- B.Tech: online written test, then counselling for JET-qualified candidates and for those shortlisted through the Scholarship Counselling Round. A provisional admission offer letter follows, and the seat is confirmed by paying the fee on the student dashboard.
- M.Tech: JET and a personal interview, with GATE-appeared candidates exempt from the test.
- MBA: online written test (or an exempting score), extempore and personal interview. Candidates must also meet the minimum cut-off percentage in the degree examination, which the university says it communicates during the JET process because it differs by programme.
- Other PG programmes: online written test and personal interview, held over Zoom except for the Master of Performing Arts papers.
Admission is provisional until the original documents (10th and 12th mark sheets, transfer certificate, migration certificate, Aadhaar copy and photographs) are submitted at the study campus by the stated time.
