NUCAT 2027 Latest Updates
Updated- 15 October 2026: The university has not announced NUCAT 2027 dates. The NUCAT home page still shows the 2026 cycle and the NMIT site links the admissions portal as "Admissions 2026-27". Going by the last two cycles (registration from 19 December 2024 and 4 December 2025; first B.Tech test on 1 to 3 February 2025 and 22 and 23 February 2026), registration is expected to open in December 2026 and the first test in February 2027. See the timeline.
- 14 July 2026: The answer key for the MBA and MCA test was displayed from 9 am to 9 pm; online round 2 counselling for B.Tech at NMAM Institute of Technology and NMIT was scheduled from 9 July 2026.
- 13 July 2026: Last date for B.Tech candidates to report to the institution (class commencement was scheduled for 29 June 2026).
- 7 June 2026: B.Tech results (ranks) scheduled; in-person counselling followed on 11 June (JEE category), 12 June (tuition fee waiver), 13 June (inclusivity) and from 15 June (general).
- 26 to 28 May 2026: NUCAT Test 3 for B.Tech (Test 1 was 22 and 23 February and Test 2 was 25 to 27 April 2026).

Overview
The Nitte University Common Admission Test (NUCAT) is the entrance test of Nitte (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, for its B.Tech, BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science, BSc Nursing, MBA and MCA programmes at the Nitte and Bengaluru campuses. One NUCAT rank is valid for B.Tech at NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte, and Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT), Bengaluru. For B.Tech the university states that there is no seat allotment through KCET or COMEDK, so NUCAT is the only entrance test for those two colleges, apart from a 2% JEE Main category. The test is conducted in remotely proctored online mode or centre-based online mode, up to three times a year. The university has not announced NUCAT 2027 dates (checked 15 October 2026); nucat.nitte.edu.in still shows the 2026 cycle.

How to Apply for NUCAT 2027
- Fill the online enquiry form and application at apply.nitte.edu.in, choosing the programme and category (the NRI category is chosen in the B.Tech form).
- Pay the registration fee online (B.Tech: Rs 1,350 per test, non-refundable; card, net banking or UPI) and book a test slot. The fee for a test cannot be adjusted to a later test if the candidate is absent.
- Corrections to the application go by email to info@nitte.edu.in within 2 days of registration.
- The Information Bulletin is shared with candidates after registration. The mock test is held a few days before each test for remotely proctored candidates.
- Download the e-admit card from the Student Dashboard on apply.nitte.edu.in.
- Remotely proctored test: a laptop (Windows 10 or 11 recommended, i3 processor or equivalent, 4 GB RAM, 1 Mbps) plus a mobile or tablet as a compulsory second camera, in a closed, well-lit room. NUCAT Rank, Counselling and Admission Categories
B.Tech: rank and counselling
- The NUCAT rank is announced on the test platform (nucat.codetantra.com). Admission under the General, Inclusivity and Tuition Fee Waiver categories is on NUCAT merit.
- In-person counselling for both colleges is held at NMAM Institute of Technology and NMIT on the dates posted on nucat.nitte.edu.in. In 2026 the order was JEE category, tuition fee waiver, inclusivity, then general; an online round 2 followed from 9 July with registration, option entry, mock allotment, allotment and fee payment in rank bands.
- The first-year fee for the allotted programme confirms admission on the counselling day. On withdrawal, Rs 10,000 is deducted up to 30 days from class commencement and nothing is refunded after 30 days. Branch upgrades are possible in the mop-up round.

MBA and MCA
- MBA: selection on NUCAT score, degree marks up to the IV semester and a group discussion and personal interview; 10% of seats are for graduates from outside Karnataka who qualify in CAT, XAT, MAT or NUCAT.
- MCA: selection on NUCAT score, an on-campus interview and marks in Class 10, Class 12 and the degree.

B.Tech Annual Tuition Fee 2026-27 Through NUCAT
