VITEEE 2027 Latest Updates
Updated- 13 October 2026: VITEEE 2027 has not been announced. viteee.vit.ac.in still shows the 2026 cycle, and VIT has not released the 2027 prospectus or application form. The 2026 form opened on 24 October 2025 and the 2025 form in the first half of November 2024, so the 2027 form is expected from late October or November 2026 (an estimate from past cycles, not a VIT date). - 28 April 2026: VITEEE 2026 began; it ran until 3 May 2026 with two shifts a day.
- 1 April 2026: VIT extended the VITEEE 2026 application deadline to 12 April 2026.

Overview
VITEEE 2027 is the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination for B.Tech. admission in 2027 at VIT's campuses in Vellore, Chennai, Amaravati (VIT-AP) and Bhopal. VIT has not announced the 2027 dates yet (13 October 2026). Going by the last two cycles, the application form is expected from late October or November 2026 and the test in late April 2027.
In 2026, VITEEE was a computer-based test of 125 multiple-choice questions in 2 hours 30 minutes: Mathematics or Biology (40), Physics (35), Chemistry (35), Aptitude (10) and English (5), with four marks for a correct answer and minus one for a wrong one. Ranks come from normalised percentile scores, and admission follows online counselling in rank order, where candidates pick a campus, programme and fee category. VITEEE ranks 1 to 500 also qualify for VIT's GVSDP tuition waivers of 25% to 100%.

Eligibility Criteria
VIT has not published the VITEEE 2027 eligibility yet. The VITEEE 2026 rules were:
- Nationality: resident or non-resident Indian nationals, OCI and PIO card holders. NRI applicants apply under the NRI category, and applicants who studied abroad through VIT's international application.
- Age: born on or after 1 July 2004.
- Qualifying exam: Class 12 from a recognised central or state board, a two-year intermediate or pre-university course, GCE A levels, the IB diploma or another qualification VIT accepts, passed or being taken in 2026.
- Marks, Mathematics route (MPCEA paper): a 60% aggregate in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with at least 50% in Mathematics; eligible for all B.Tech. programmes.
- Marks, Biology route (BPCEA paper): a 60% aggregate in Biology, Physics and Chemistry with at least 50% in Biology; eligible only for B.Tech. Biotechnology, CSE (Bioinformatics) and Health Sciences and Technology at Vellore, and a few programmes at other campuses.
- Relaxation: a 50% aggregate for SC/ST candidates and for candidates from Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and the north-eastern states.
- A candidate can take VITEEE only once in a year; more than one attempt cancels the application.

- Mode: computer-based test at centres in India and abroad, over several days with two sessions a day.
- Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes; question paper in English only.
- Marking: +4 for a correct answer, -1 for a wrong answer, 0 for an unanswered question.
- Ranking: scores are normalised across sessions into percentiles, and the rank list is drawn up from those percentiles. VIT does not re-total or re-rank.
Syllabus

- Physics: mechanics and properties of matter; electrostatics; current electricity and magnetic effects of current; electromagnetic induction and alternating current; optics; dual nature of radiation, atomic and nuclear physics; semiconductor devices.
- Chemistry: physical chemistry; inorganic and material chemistry; analytical chemistry; basic principles of organic chemistry; functionalised organic compounds; organic nitrogen compounds; biomolecules and polymers.
- Mathematics: matrices; trigonometry and complex numbers; two- and three-dimensional analytical geometry; vector algebra; differential and integral calculus; differential equations; probability and distributions; discrete mathematics.
- Biology: taxonomy; cell and molecular biology; reproduction; genetics and evolution; human health and diseases; biochemistry; plant and human physiology; biotechnology; biodiversity, ecology and environment.
- Aptitude: data interpretation; data sufficiency; syllogisms; number series, coding and decoding; clocks, calendars and directions.
How to Apply for VITEEE 2027
The VITEEE 2027 form is not out yet (13 October 2026). The 2026 process, from the VITEEE 2026 prospectus:
- Register on viteee.vit.ac.in with a valid email address and mobile number, and get an application number.
- Fill in the form: personal and academic details and test cities, chosen only from the native state, the current address state or the school's state. The test city cannot be edited after submission.
- Pay the fee: Rs 1,350 (non-refundable) by net banking, credit or debit card, or Paytm; for test centres abroad, the equivalent of USD 90.
- Upload a studio colour photograph and signature, and download the filled-in form.
- Book a test slot on VIT's Online Test Booking System (OTBS) with the password sent by email. Slots go first come, first served and cannot be changed once booked. The admit card is generated after booking.
- Take the mock test VIT puts up before the exam (in 2026, around late March to early April).
Only one application per candidate is accepted; a second form cancels the application.
VITEEE Counselling, Fee Categories and 2026-27 B.Tech. Fees
After the result, VIT holds one online counselling for its four campuses: VIT Vellore and VIT Chennai (the deemed university), and VIT-AP and VIT Bhopal (state private universities). Some branches run on only one campus. In 2026 the counselling fee was Rs 5,900 (non-refundable). Candidates are called by rank and choose a campus, programme and fee category from the seats still open; allotment follows rank, preference and availability, and VIT does not allow a change of category, campus or branch later. The provisional admission letter comes after the tuition fee is paid, and VIT then checks eligibility.

A refundable caution deposit of Rs 5,000 is paid once. Hostel with mess at Vellore costs Rs 1,20,700 to Rs 2,49,400 a year in 2026-27. Programme-wise fees: VIT Vellore.

VIT waives part of the B.Tech. tuition for its top VITEEE rankers under the GV School Development Programme (VITEEE 2026 prospectus):

The first-year award is made at the end of the first semester, and later years depend on the terms VIT sets on joining. In 2025-26, 485 students received it, Rs 3.14 crore in all.

When is VITEEE 2027?
VIT has not announced the VITEEE 2027 exam date yet (13 October 2026). VITEEE 2026 ran from 28 April to 3 May 2026 and VITEEE 2025 was scheduled for 20 to 27 April 2025, so the 2027 test is likely in late April 2027. That is last cycles' pattern, not a VIT date.
