VTUEEE 2027

Official VTUEEE dates for the last three cycles. In 2025 and 2026 each phase had two slots; for 2027 Vel Tech lists four phases of two days.

Vel Tech's fee page also lists a VTUEEE 2026 Phase III fee, but the B.Tech. admission page as captured on 29 June 2026 shows only the Phase I and Phase II schedules.

Vel Tech has not published separate eligibility rules for VTUEEE 2027. The rules for VTUEEE 2026 and B.Tech. admission 2026 were:

• Qualifying examination: Class 12 (10+2) passed or being taken, from a state board, CBSE, CISCE, the National Institute of Open Schooling, a two-year intermediate or pre-university course of a recognised board or university, or the Cambridge High School Certificate or an equivalent.
• Marks: at least 60% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in Class 12 or the equivalent examination.
• Appearing candidates: students taking their Class 12 final examination could sit VTUEEE.
• State for scholarships: for the Mahatma Gandhi National Merit Scholarship, the state or union territory where the candidate studied and took the Class 12 examination counts as the home state, whatever the candidate's nativity.

Vel Tech warns that admission is cancelled if a candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria. Lateral entry to the third semester (for diploma holders and B.Sc. graduates with Mathematics) is a separate admission and does not use VTUEEE.

Vel Tech's official pages do not publish the number of questions, the duration or the marking scheme of VTUEEE (checked 16 October 2026). What they do state for the last cycle is set out below.

VTUEEE 2026 (last cycle)

For 2027 Vel Tech lists four phases of two days each. It has not said whether all four use both modes.

The VTUEEE syllabus covers Class 11 and 12 Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Vel Tech's B.Tech. admission page links subject syllabus PDFs that are dated 2019; no newer syllabus has been published.

• Physics (syllabus PDF): Physics and measurement; kinematics; laws of motion; work, energy and power; rotational motion; gravitation; properties of solids and liquids; thermodynamics; kinetic theory of gases; oscillations and waves; electrostatics; current electricity; magnetic effects of current and magnetism; electromagnetic induction and alternating currents; electromagnetic waves; optics; dual nature of matter and radiation; atoms and nuclei; electronic devices; communication systems; experimental skills.
• Chemistry (syllabus PDF): Physical chemistry: basic concepts, states of matter, atomic structure, chemical bonding and molecular structure, chemical thermodynamics, solutions, equilibrium, redox reactions and electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, surface chemistry. Inorganic chemistry: classification of elements and periodicity, isolation of metals, hydrogen, s-, p-, d- and f-block elements, co-ordination compounds, environmental chemistry. Organic chemistry: purification and characterisation, basic principles, hydrocarbons, compounds containing halogens, oxygen (alcohols, phenols, ethers, carboxylic acids) and nitrogen, polymers, biomolecules, chemistry in everyday life, principles of practical chemistry.
• Mathematics: the Mathematics syllabus PDF linked from the admission page could not be opened (checked 16 October 2026).

VTUEEE results feed into the Vel Tech Mahatma Gandhi National Merit Scholarship, which cuts the B.Tech. tuition fee. A candidate gets the higher of the two benefits: one based on the Class 12 aggregate in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (MPC), the other on the VTUEEE rank.

B.Tech. tuition fee by VTUEEE phase (2026-27)

• Tuition is per year. An academic and career advancement fee of Rs 15,000 and an examination fee of Rs 5,000 are charged each year, and a caution deposit of Rs 5,000 is paid once and refunded at the end of the programme.
• The brochure adds that CSE and CSE specialisation fees start from the Phase III 50% row, AI and Data Science and IT fees from the Phase I 50% row, and Biotechnology and ECE fees from the Phase III 75% row.
• Vel Tech has not published the 2027-28 fee or the 2027 scholarship table yet (16 October 2026).

Vel Tech does not publish a counselling schedule for VTUEEE. Its pages describe admission as follows.

• By phase: candidates are admitted in the phase in which they take VTUEEE, and the B.Tech. fee of that phase applies (in 2025 the page said Phase I candidates kept the previous year's fee structure).
• Scholarship: the merit scholarship is set at admission from the MPC aggregate or the VTUEEE rank, whichever gives more.
• Direct admission: B.Tech. seats are also filled without an entrance test; a seat can be blocked by paying Rs 10,000.
• Documents: candidates may visit a regional admission office with all their documents; admission is cancelled if the eligibility criteria are not met.
• Hostel: the VTUEEE 2026 brochure says outstation students must stay in the university hostel for four years; standard rooms cost Rs 1,08,000 a year for boarding and lodging, plus a Rs 5,000 admission fee and a Rs 5,000 refundable caution deposit.
• Refunds: as per UGC norms.

VTUEEE is used only by Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, for the B.Tech. programmes at its Avadi campus in Chennai. The VTUEEE 2027 application page lists these programmes; most offer specialisation tracks (for example, CSE has tracks in AI and machine learning, cyber security, cloud computing, blockchain and quantum computing) and an honours or minor option worth 18 extra credits.

B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) was offered through VTUEEE 2026 and is in AICTE's 2025-26 approved intake, but it is not on the 2027 application page. Vel Tech says all its B.Tech. programmes are approved by AICTE.
