JEE Main 2027 Registration Opens, Apply by 22 November

In short

NTA has opened JEE Main 2027 Session 1 registration. Apply on jeemain.nta.nic.in by 22 November 2026; late fee window 23 to 26 November; exam 20 to 28 January 2027.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened registration for JEE Main 2027 Session 1. According to its public notice dated 24 October 2026, candidates can fill the application form on jeemain.nta.nic.in until 22 November 2026 at 11:50 pm, and the fee has to be paid by the same time.

This year NTA has also added a late window, which the 2026 notice did not have. From 23 to 26 November 2026 the form can still be submitted with a late fee of Rs 500 on top of the normal fee, the same amount for every category. The Session 1 exam will be held on 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 January 2027, slightly earlier than the 22 to 30 January that NTA's examination calendar of 16 September had proposed.

Application fee

The fee is the same as last year. For one paper at a centre in India it is Rs 1,000 for General male candidates, Rs 800 for General female candidates, Rs 900 for Gen-EWS and OBC-NCL male candidates (Rs 800 female), and Rs 500 for SC, ST, PwD/PwBD and third gender candidates. Two or three papers cost between Rs 1,000 and Rs 2,000. Bank processing charges and GST are extra.

Who can apply

Candidates who passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination in 2025 or 2026, or who are appearing in 2027, are eligible. Those who passed in 2024 or earlier are not. There is no age limit for the exam, though institutes may set their own. The paper is offered in 13 languages.

What you need before you start

  • A recent passport-size colour photograph on a white background, 80% of the face visible including the ears, as a JPG of 10 KB to 200 KB. A live photograph is also taken while you fill the form.
  • Your signature as a JPG of 10 KB to 100 KB.
  • Your Class 10 certificate or marksheet as a PDF of 50 KB to 300 KB.
  • A UDID card or disability certificate as a PDF of 50 KB to 300 KB, for PwD/PwBD candidates only.
  • Your own or a parent's mobile number and email address, where NTA sends all messages and password resets.

NTA also asks candidates to bring their Aadhaar details up to date before applying. Registration can be done through MeriPehchaan, the government's single sign-on, which can verify you with Aadhaar, PAN, a driving licence or APAAR.

How to apply

  1. Register on jeemain.nta.nic.in and note the application number. It is used for both sessions.
  2. Fill in the form: personal details, the paper, the language, four exam cities in order of preference and your Class 10 and 12 details. Then take the live photograph and upload the documents.
  3. Pay the fee online by net banking, card or UPI.
  4. Download and keep the confirmation page. It appears only after the payment goes through.

Only one application is allowed per candidate. NTA treats a second form as unfair means, even if it is found later.

Session 2

The Session 2 form will be open from 5 January to 3 February 2027, with a late window from 4 to 7 February and corrections from 8 to 10 February. The Session 2 exam is scheduled for 2 to 7 April 2027. Candidates who applied for Session 1 use the same application number.

Full details, the fee table and the documents checklist are on our JEE Main 2027 page, with step-by-step help on the application form page and every date for both sessions on the important dates page.
