Background
SRMJEEE 2027 dates (tentative)
| Phase | Exam (CBT) | Last date to apply |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | 17-18 April 2027 | 2 April 2027 |
| Phase 2 | 19-20 June 2027 | 4 June 2027 |
SRM notes that seat allotment in Phase 2 depends on the seats still available across its campuses. Its SRMJEEE information page still shows the phase dates as "TBA"; the dates above are from the application portal.
Fee and how to apply
The application fee is Rs 1,400 for each phase and is not refundable. A student who wants to sit more than one phase fills a separate application for each. On the portal, students register, verify their email address, fill in the form, upload a photograph and signature and pay the fee. The email ID given at registration is used for all messages and cannot be changed later. NRI, PIO and OCI candidates apply through SRM's international application form instead.
The campus and programme preference in the form is collected for statistics only. Students choose their campus, programme and specialisation at counselling. The application covers B.Tech at SRM IST Chennai (Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Delhi-NCR Ghaziabad, Vadapalani, Tiruchirappalli and Baburayanpettai), SRM University Sonepat (Haryana), SRM University AP and SRM University Sikkim.
Exam pattern and mode
SRMJEEE 2027 has 130 multiple-choice questions in English, to be answered in 2 hours 30 minutes. Each correct answer gets one mark and there is no negative marking.
| Section | Questions |
|---|---|
| Physics | 35 |
| Chemistry | 35 |
| Mathematics or Biology | 40 |
| English and Aptitude | 20 |
SRM's two pages describe the test mode differently. The application portal says candidates take the CBT (Centre Based Test) at centres across India. The SRMJEEE information page also calls it a Centre Based Test, but says students can take it from home on a desktop or laptop with a webcam, with mobile phones not allowed. Students should follow the instructions SRM gives at slot booking and on the admit card.
Slot booking opens before each phase begins, with two slots a day. A booked slot cannot be changed, and the admit card can be downloaded as soon as the slot is booked. Results come after each phase, followed by online counselling for that phase. SRM has published the SRMJEEE 2027 syllabus.
Who can apply
Applicants must have passed Class 12 (10+2), or be appearing for it in the current academic year, with at least 60% aggregate in three subjects: Physics and Mathematics, both compulsory, and one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Engineering Graphics, Artificial Intelligence, or Botany and Zoology. For B.Tech programmes in Biotechnology, Genetic Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, the 60% can be in PCM, PMB or PCB (Botany or Zoology also count); students admitted to these without Mathematics take an extra 4-credit Mathematics course in the first year.
