About This Scholarship
Aikyashree is the West Bengal government's scholarship programme for students from the notified minority communities: Buddhist, Christian, Jain, Muslim, Parsee and Sikh. The West Bengal Minorities' Development & Finance Corporation (WBMDFC) runs it for the Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education Department. Pre-Matric, Post-Matric and Merit-cum-Means (MCM) applications are taken on the NSP-WB portal, the state's own scholarship portal. The portal's Schemes & Guidelines page still carries the Aikyashree Gazette Notification and Aikyashree Guidelines, but the portal and WBMDFC's FAQ now present the scholarships as NSP-WB, which the FAQ calls a new state minority scholarship scheme.
For 2026-27 the portal accepts fresh and renewal applications for Pre-Matric, Post-Matric, MCM and SVMCM until 26 October 2026. The Student Panel offers Fresh Registration 2026-2027, Renew Application 2026-2027 and defect-correction options. The window for 2025-26 was reopened for SVMCM fresh and renewal applications only, until further notice. SVMCM is a separate scheme with its own guideline at svmcm.wbhed.gov.in.
Courses from Class 1 to PhD and technical and professional courses are covered, but only at institutions in West Bengal. Each application travels from the student to the institute, the district minority office and WBMDFC, and payment is made through IFMS.
