About This Scholarship
The Atul Maheshwari Scholarship is run by the Amar Ujala Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Amar Ujala Limited. The foundation launched it in June 2014 for students from poor socio-economic backgrounds who want to continue their studies. It covers students of Classes 9 to 12 in state-board schools in Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand, and awards are decided through a written examination, interviews and document verification.
For the 2026 round the foundation announced 46 scholarships: 23 of Rs 50,000 each for Classes 9 and 10 and 23 of Rs 75,000 each for Classes 11 and 12, a total of Rs 28.8 lakh, including two special scholarships for visually impaired students. In the previous round, results declared on 26 February 2026 selected 46 students from about 1.5 lakh applicants, and more than 80% of the awardees came from rural backgrounds.
The 2026 application window ran from 15 July 2026 to 20 August 2026. The first deadline of 30 July was extended to 7 August and then to 20 August. Applications were accepted online only, with a choice of 95 cities for the written examination. The application page on amarujala.com now offers admit card download through the registered mobile number, so the application stage has closed. The written examination date for 2026 is not stated in the notices read.
