About This Scholarship

HDFC Bank's Parivartan Educational Crisis Scholarship Support (ECSS) Programme is the Bank's CSR scholarship for students from underprivileged families who cannot meet the cost of education because of a personal or family crisis or other financial problems and are at risk of dropping out. It covers school students from Class 1 to 12 and students of diploma, ITI, polytechnic, undergraduate and postgraduate courses, general and professional, in India. Support runs from INR 15,000 to INR 75,000, depending on the level and the course. Applicants must be Indian nationals, must have at least 55% marks in the previous qualifying examination and must belong to a family with income up to INR 2.5 lakh a year; preference goes to those who faced a crisis in the past three years.

Applications for 2026-27 are taken on Buddy4Study, which the ECSS website names as the application platform, with separate forms for the school, undergraduate and postgraduate categories. The ECSS site shows 31 October 2026 as the deadline in each of the three sections. Selection runs in stages: shortlisting on the eligibility criteria, document verification, a personal interview and announcement of the final list of scholars.

Badhte Kadam is a different scheme. The H T Parekh Foundation's website carries a news item dated 25 August 2022 about version 2.0 of HDFC Limited's Badhte Kadam scholarship for FY 2022-23 and no later item on its home page. HDFC Bank's CSR pages and the ECSS website do not mention Badhte Kadam, and no 2026-27 cycle of it was found on an official page. This page therefore covers ECSS, the scholarship programme that HDFC Bank lists for 2026-27.
