About This Scholarship

Madhya Pradesh Scholarship Portal 2.0 is the state's online system for post-matric scholarships to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes students, built by NIC Madhya Pradesh. A student can receive the benefit of only one of the three post-matric schemes. The Scheduled Caste Welfare Department is the nodal office for PMS-SC, and the Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Department publishes the PMS-OBC FAQ. The portal also hosts the Higher Education Department's Gaon Ki Beti and Pratibha Kiran registration and links to the Mukhyamantri Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojana (MMVY) and Mukhyamantri Jankalyan (Shiksha Protsahan) Yojana (MMJKY) portals.

The portal's front page shows no 2026-27 application dates. Its notices say that renewal is open only for students approved in the previous academic session, and the Gaon Ki Beti and Pratibha Kiran registration link is labelled 2025-26. The MMVY portal's registration link is also labelled 2025-26 (fresh and renewal). On 29 September 2026 the Higher Education Department asked colleges to verify pending SC post-matric applications for the sessions 2022-23 to 2025-26 so that the central share could be paid.

Scholarship amounts are not given as rupee figures. The portal says the benefit depends on the family's annual income, the institution, the course, the course fee and fee capping. For OBC students, family income up to Rs 3,00,000 qualifies for a 100% scholarship. For ST students, income up to Rs 5,00,000 qualifies for 100% and Rs 5,00,001 to Rs 6,00,000 for 50%. The portal is at hescholarship.mp.gov.in.

How to Apply

Application Guide

  1. Open the Madhya Pradesh Scholarship Portal (hescholarship.mp.gov.in). Under 'Post Matric Scholarship Schemes [Benefit of only one scheme is allowed]' read the page for the OBC, SC or ST scheme.
  2. Register with the student's name, father's name, mother's name, date of birth, category, gender, Samagra ID and mobile number.
  3. Log in through 'Student Login', enter the current college code and branch code, add the photograph and save the application. The details can be edited until the application is locked.
  4. Check the saved details and lock the application. A paper copy need not be submitted to the institution, because the process has been paperless since 2020-21 (OBC FAQ).
  5. The institution and the district officer of the concerned SC, ST or OBC department process the application. For corrections contact that district officer; to add an institute or course contact the line department.
  6. Renew the application every year; renewal is open only to students approved in the previous academic session.

Selection Process

Awards follow the eligibility slabs: the scholarship share depends on family income, institution, course, course fee and fee capping, and no ranking or entrance test is mentioned. The institution and the district officer process each application, and the portal asks students to contact the district officer of the institution's district for corrections. Only one post-matric scheme can be availed. For OBC students the FAQ requires 75% attendance and only a pass in the previous class.
