About This Scholarship
The SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship is run by SBI Foundation, the CSR arm of State Bank of India, for meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds. It has seven tracks, from Class 9 school students to study abroad: school (Classes 9 to 12), undergraduate, postgraduate, MBBS, IIT, IIM and overseas study. Yearly awards go up to Rs 15,000 for school students, Rs 75,000 for undergraduates, Rs 1.5 lakh for postgraduates, Rs 2 lakh for MBBS and IIT students, Rs 5 lakh for IIM students and Rs 15 lakh for study abroad. Every track needs at least 75% marks or 7.5 CGPA in the previous academic year (65% for SC and ST candidates, 60% for candidates with benchmark disabilities) and family income within a limit of Rs 3 lakh for school students and Rs 6 lakh for the other tracks.
By default seats are reserved: 50% for women and 50% for men, 25% for SC candidates, 25% for ST candidates and 5% for persons with benchmark disabilities. Applications for 2026-27 ran from 22 July to 19 September 2026 on the portal sbiashascholarship.co.in, which the SBI Foundation page names as the place to apply. The portal now shows applications as closed and renewal as open for scholars of 2025-26. The scholarship is meant to support selected scholars for the whole course, subject to satisfactory academic performance and the eligibility conditions each year. The number of awards for 2026-27 is not published on the pages read.

- Diploma students are not eligible; only Classes 9 to 12 and eligible undergraduate and postgraduate courses at designated institutions qualify.
- An SBI bank account is not needed to apply, but shortlisted candidates need an active SBI account in their own name before disbursement.

The scholarship amount is transferred directly to the selected scholar's bank account. The programme aims to support selected scholars throughout the course, subject to satisfactory academic performance and continued fulfilment of the eligibility criteria each year. Asha Scholars of 2025-26 can renew for 2026-27 on the portal.
How to Apply
Application Guide
- Open the SBI Asha scholarship portal (https://www.sbiashascholarship.co.in/) and start registration from the home page. The 2026-27 window closed on 19 September 2026; the steps below are the ones the portal lists.
- Log in with the registered account, or register with an email address, mobile number or Google account.
- On the application form page of the SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship 2026-27, choose the scholarship category and select Start Application.
- Fill in all the required details in each section of the form.
- Upload clear copies of the supporting documents required for the category.
- Accept the terms and conditions and review all details in the preview.
- Check that everything is correct and submit; a submitted application cannot be changed.
- Track the status from the application dashboard after login; results are published on the portal and sent by email. Asha Scholars of 2025-26 use the renewal option on the portal.
Selection Process
Applications are first shortlisted on academic merit and financial background. Shortlisted applicants may then have a telephonic interview, followed by document verification before final selection.
