About This Scholarship

Telangana ePASS is the online portal through which the Government of Telangana sanctions and pays post-matric scholarships and fee reimbursement to students of Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Classes (BC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), minorities and students with disabilities. The portal states that the scheme has been universalised to cover all communities within the stipulated income limits and that it benefits around 13 to 14 lakh students a year (the year of this figure is not stated). It applies to all universities and affiliated colleges whose admission process is regulated by the State Government, and payment is made by direct benefit transfer with Aadhaar linkage.

Each scholarship has two parts. Reimbursement of tuition fee (RTF) covers the non-refundable fee fixed by the university or board and is paid to the college. Maintenance or mess charges (MTF) are paid to the student every month at rates fixed by course group and by whether the student stays in a college hostel or is a day scholar. The portal also serves pre-matric scholarships, overseas scholarship schemes and marriage-assistance schemes; these are outside this page.

For 2026-27 the portal lists fresh and renewal registration links for post-matric scholarships and shows a notice that fresh registrations are open for ST, BC, EBC, Minority and Disabled Welfare students. No opening or closing date is published on the portal, so the dates are shown as not announced yet.

How to Apply

Application Guide

  1. Keep the 2026-27 fresh registration prerequisites ready: SSC hall ticket number, Aadhaar number, caste certificate, income certificate issued after 1 April 2025, bank account details, a mobile number for the one-time password, seven years of study certificates and the CET allotment order where applicable.
  2. Open Student Services under Post Matric Scholarship Services on the ePASS portal (telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in/epassonlinelinks.do).
  3. For a fresh application, use Fresh Pre-Registrations for All Departments, then Fresh Complete Registrations for All Departments. SC students must have the same name in Aadhaar and the SSC certificate (otherwise update it at MeeSeva) and then give biometric authentication at the nearest MeeSeva before completing the application. ST students enter their OTR number.
  4. For renewal, use Renewal Pre-Registrations for All Departments, then Renewal Registrations for ST, BC, EBC, DW and Minority.
  5. Upload the passport photograph, Aadhaar, bank passbook first page, seven-year study certificate and CET allotment order, then submit the application and take the print-out (Print Application / Acknowledgement).
  6. Submit the application with documents at the college within 15 days of admission, and follow its status under Postmatric Application Status.

Selection Process

The portal describes a verification chain rather than a merit list. The student submits the application with documents at the college and gives Aadhaar biometric authentication at MeeSeva. The college verifies the application (attendance, local or non-local status, bonafide, regular or discontinued) and submits the signed barcode hard copy at the district office. The district officer then sanctions and releases the RTF and MTF. The ePASS server is linked with the SSC, Inter Board and MeeSeva servers for cross-validation. Reasons for rejection listed on the portal include not being a bonafide student, incorrect caste or income details and non-submission of caste or income certificates.
