How the predictor works
1. Your rank against every seat
Each seat type (college, branch, quota and category) has the last rank it went to in each State CET Cell round. Your rank is compared with all of them.
2. Only the seats you can take
Open seats for everyone, your category's seats on top, the seats the boxes you tick add (ladies, rural, Kannada medium, TFWS, region), PwD seats if you have a disability, and other quotas only when you say you are eligible.
3. Colleges by chance
Good chance first, then Possible, then Tough; within each, the most competitive college leads.
Which seats it covers
The State CET Cell allots the seats of government, aided, autonomous and private engineering colleges in Maharashtra through its Centralised Admission Process (CAP) rounds, on the MHT CET state merit list. Those seats are what this predictor covers: state level seats, and home and other university seats where you ask for them.
Institute level seats (filled by the college itself after the CAP rounds), management quota seats and the All India seats taken on JEE Main are not in the CAP cutoff lists, so they are not predicted here.
Questions about the MHT CET college predictor
How does the MHT CET college predictor work?
It compares your MHT CET state merit rank with the ranks at which the State CET Cell allotted every seat in 2025 (CAP Round I, CAP Round II, CAP Round III), for your category, the seats you are eligible for and the branches you choose. A college is listed when a seat there went to a rank at or near yours.
Which rank should I enter for MHT CET?
Your state merit (general) rank from the CAP merit list, not your percentile.
What do Good chance, Possible and Tough mean?
Good chance: Your rank is at least 10% better than the last rank that got this seat. Possible: Your rank is within last year's closing rank. Tough: Just after last year's closing rank, or only reached in a later spot round.
Which seats does it cover?
The State CET Cell allots the seats of government, aided, autonomous and private engineering colleges in Maharashtra through its Centralised Admission Process (CAP) rounds, on the MHT CET state merit list. Those seats are what this predictor covers: state level seats, and home and other university seats where you ask for them. Institute level seats (filled by the college itself after the CAP rounds), management quota seats and the All India seats taken on JEE Main are not in the CAP cutoff lists, so they are not predicted here.
How accurate is the prediction?
It shows where each seat closed in State CET Cell 2025. Cutoffs move every year with the number of candidates, the paper and the seats added, so use it as a guide to fill your option form: include colleges from every band, not only the good chances.
Is the MHT CET college predictor free?
Yes. It is free to use. The first time you predict, we ask for your name and mobile number, confirmed with a code on WhatsApp, so a CollegeChalo counsellor can help you with counselling if you want.
