GLS University

GLS University is a state private university in Ellisbridge, Ahmedabad, sponsored by the Gujarat Law Society, which was founded in 1927. It came into existence on 15 April 2015 under the Gujarat Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2015 (Gujarat Act No. 3 of 2015), which added it to the Schedule of the Gujarat Private Universities Act, 2009. The UGC has confirmed it as a private university empowered to award degrees under section 22 of the UGC Act, and the university's own disclosure records recognition under section 2(f) from 5 June 2018. The university states that NAAC accredited it at A+ grade with a CGPA of 3.44, and its law programmes carry Bar Council of India approval.

The university is unitary, with no affiliated colleges, and teaches through faculties of Management, Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Applications and Information Technology, Performing Arts, Law, Design, and Engineering and Technology, along with a School of Doctoral Research and Innovation. Programmes include MBA, B.Com and M.Com, BBA, BCA, MCA and M.Sc IT, a four-year B.Tech, five-year integrated LL.B. degrees, a three-year LL.B. (Hons) and a one-year LL.M., and B.Des and M.Des. Several faculties offer dual-specialisation, honours and integrated routes in line with NEP 2020. MBA and MCA admission uses CMAT followed by ACPC counselling, B.Tech goes through ACPC on JEE Main or GUJCET, and other programmes admit through the university's online portal against stated eligibility.
