About L.D. College of Engineering
L.D. College of Engineering (Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering, LDCE) is a government engineering college in Navrangpura, Ahmedabad, opposite Gujarat University. It was established on 20 June 1948 with a donation of Rs 25 lakh and 31.2 hectares of land from the industrialist Kasturbhai Lalbhai, who named it after his father; it was first affiliated to the University of Bombay and moved to Gujarat University in 1949. The college is run by the Commissionerate of Technical Education, Government of Gujarat, and is now affiliated to Gujarat Technological University, which granted temporary affiliation for 2026-27 by a letter dated 6 June 2026. AICTE issued its Extension of Approval for 2026-27 on 16 March 2026, and NBA lists Civil and Electrical Engineering as accredited up to 31 December 2028.
The college teaches 16 four-year B.E. branches with a combined intake of 1,350 seats, among them Computer, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Information Technology, Chemical, Automobile, Plastic and Rubber Technology, and Textile Technology, plus 19 two-year postgraduate programmes (18 M.E. specialisations and the MCA) with 401 seats in all. Admission to the first year of B.E. is run centrally by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), Gujarat, using GUJCET with Class 12 marks for Home State seats and JEE Main rank for the 5% All India seats; PG admission through ACPC uses a valid GATE score or the PGCET. The training and placement page lists 1,060 students selected and 246 companies visiting in 2026.

Admission to the first year of B.E. is managed centrally by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), Gujarat, and PG admission is also carried out by ACPC.
