Rama Devi Women's University

Rama Devi Women's University is a state university for women at Vidya Vihar, Bhoinagar, Bhubaneswar. The Government of Odisha upgraded Rama Devi Women's College on 30 May 2015 under the Orissa Universities Act, 1989, creating what the university calls the first women's university of Odisha; 48 women's colleges that had been under Utkal University came under its jurisdiction, and it was inaugurated on 3 December 2015. The college had been renamed in 1969 (earlier Government Women's College), made autonomous in 1999 and given College with Potential for Excellence status by the UGC in 2010. The UGC lists the university among state universities and in its 12(B) list as on 4 August 2023, and NAAC accredited it at B++ (CGPA 2.87 on a four-point scale) on 3 October 2024, valid up to 2 October 2029.

The university lists 26 departments, grouped under faculties including science and technology, pedagogical science, and humanities and social sciences, from Odia, Sanskrit and gender studies to biotechnology, computer science, business administration and journalism. Its programme pages list 23 undergraduate honours programmes in arts, science and commerce, a two-year B.Ed. with 50 seats, 19 postgraduate programmes including an MBA, and Ph.D. programmes in eight disciplines, with a combined sanctioned strength of 1,922 seats in the UG and PG tables. Admission to UG, PG and B.Ed. is through the state's SAMS portal, and ten M.Sc. Biotechnology seats are filled through a DBT-supported programme using the GAT-B score.
