About Sri Aurobindo Medical College and PG Institute
Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAIMS) at Bhawrasla on the Indore-Ujjain State Highway, Indore, is the medical college and hospital campus whose formal name is Sri Aurobindo Medical College & PG Institute. The college began in 2004 under the SAIMS Society and is now a constituent institution of Sri Aurobindo University, a private university established under the Madhya Pradesh Niji Vishwavidyalaya (Sthapana Evam Sanchalan) Adhiniyam, 2007; the UGC records its gazette notification date as 30 March 2021 and lists it under section 2(f), and its first statutes appeared in the Madhya Pradesh Gazette of 30 July 2021. The 35-acre campus has an attached teaching hospital of about 1,400 beds.
The college's course table lists the M.B.B.S. (4.5 years, 250 seats), M.D. in 16 subjects, M.S. in six, D.M. in six and M.Ch. in three super-specialities, along with M.Sc. Clinical Embryology and M.Sc. Molecular Biology at 15 seats each. The university's other colleges cover dentistry, speech and hearing, law, nursing, allied health, journalism, hospital administration and hotel management. MBBS admission rests on NEET UG 2026 and counselling allotment, with a Madhya Pradesh domicile certificate among the required documents and a separate NRI quota, and the Madhya Pradesh Private University Regulatory Commission approves the fees for each session.
