Overview

ATMA (AIMS Test for Management Admissions) is the online MBA and PGDM entrance test of the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS); dates for the 2027 cycle are not announced yet. AIMS, set up in 1988 and with over 650 member institutions, launched ATMA in 2000, and its registration portal describes the test as recognised by over 200 B-schools. The score is used for postgraduate management programmes such as PGDM, PGDBA, MBA and MMS, and for MCA where local regulations allow. In 2026 the test was held on 22 February, 3 May, 12 July and in August; the website lists 9 August 2026 while the bulletin listed 23 August 2026.

  • Mode: online test with objective questions. Sections need not be attempted in serial order, and the sequence in the actual test may differ from the table.
  • Marking: 1 mark for each correct answer, 0 for an unanswered question and 0.25 mark deducted for each wrong answer, so four wrong answers cost one mark.
  • Timing in 2026: 2 PM to 5 PM, with reporting time 1 PM.
  • Sample tests are available on the ATMA website.

How to Apply for ATMA 2027

  1. Visit apply.atmaaims.com and register with your details as per Aadhaar or the Class X certificate.
  2. Receive the Personal Identification Number (PID) by e-mail and SMS; the login password is provided after registration is completed.
  3. Upload the required documents and pay the ATMA registration fee online by credit or debit card.
  4. Choose the test date and test centre. Candidates select two test cities, and the second is added to the admit card automatically if the first is not available.
  5. Print the admit card and carry it to the test centre.

  • The fee is not refundable or transferable to other tests under any circumstances.
