MAH-MBA/MMS CET 2027: Expected April, Pattern, CAP, Cut-offs

The CET Cell has announced nothing for 2027 yet. Each row below gives the 2027 status first, and where the CET Cell published a 2026 date, that date as last cycle. Expected months are only the 2026 pattern.

Admission rounds after the result (CAP)

The CET Cell calls its schedule provisional and says it may change. On 14 September 2026 the portal notice said that new registration would close at 2:00 pm, the admission cancellation link would stay open until 5:00 pm, and institute-level admission would run until 8:00 pm. The portal now shows that all processes for 2026-27 are closed. J&K and Ladakh migrant candidates had a separate counselling round at the Sydenham Institute (SIMSREE), Churchgate, Mumbai, from 10 to 13 August 2026, with reporting from 14 to 20 August 2026.

Eligibility has two parts: who can appear in the CET, and who can take part in CAP admission. The rules below are from the CET 2026 brochure and the CAP 2026-27 notices. The 2027 brochure is not out. The CET 2026 brochure says its eligibility criteria follow the previous year's CAP Information Brochure.

To appear in the CET

• A bachelor's degree of at least three years, in any discipline, from a university recognised by the UGC or the Association of Indian Universities, with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent.
• At least 45% marks for candidates of backward class categories, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Persons with Disability (PwD) who belong to Maharashtra State only.
• Candidates who have appeared for the final-year examination of any bachelor's degree can also sit the CET.
• Aggregate marks means the grand total of marks in the subjects on which the university declares the class. Grades or CGPA are converted to a percentage by the procedure the university certifies, and the percentage is rounded to two decimal places.

The brochure states no age limit.

To take part in CAP admission (2026-27)

Certificates for reserved seats

• SC, VJ/DT, NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC and SEBC candidates produce a caste validity certificate, and ST candidates a tribe validity certificate. Backward class candidates other than SC and ST also produce a non-creamy layer certificate valid up to 31 March 2027.
• EWS candidates produce the EWS certificate in the format of the Maharashtra Government Resolution of 31 May 2021. PwD candidates produce the disability certificate.
• A candidate who cannot produce the certificate, or the receipt for it, at verification is treated as a General category candidate for CAP admission.

The CET Cell has not published a 2027 pattern. This is the CET 2026 pattern (last cycle).

• Every question is multiple choice with five options, and only one is correct. There is no negative marking.
• Duration is 150 minutes (2 hours 30 minutes), in English, online. You can attempt any question at any point within the 150 minutes.
• You may need to be at the venue for about four hours for verification, login and instructions. Candidates who report after the time on the hall ticket are not allowed to take the test.
• The test runs in several shifts. In 2026 the first attempt had 5 sessions over three days, and the second attempt had 2 sessions on one day. Scores across sessions are normalised.
• Candidates who qualify for a scribe get compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination. They arrange and pay for the scribe, upload the disability certificate and carry the scribe declaration form.

Two attempts and percentile scores

• Candidates chose the first attempt or both attempts when they registered, and those who had missed the deadline could register for the second attempt in the one-day special window. If you sit both, the better of your two percentiles is used for admission in 2026-27.
• Each percentile is calculated from your raw marks in that attempt. The percentile shows the share of candidates in your session who scored equal to or below you, so the topper of each session gets 100.
• The CET Cell calculates percentiles up to seven decimal places. The total percentile is not an average of the section percentiles, and a percentile is not the same as the percentage of marks.

The CET Cell lists the three areas below in the brochure and in its syllabus and marking scheme for technical education courses. It does not publish chapter-wise topic lists. The brochure carries sample questions for all four sections.

Logical Reasoning and Abstract Reasoning

These questions measure how quickly and accurately you can think. They may be based on figures and diagrams, and some are on verbal reasoning.

Quantitative Aptitude

These questions test how fast and accurately you work with numbers and numerical calculation. They include arithmetic problems involving ratio and proportion and percentage, quantitative reasoning, and interpretation of tables, common graphs and charts.

Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension

Passages are followed by questions on their content to test comprehension. Your English is tested through grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms and comprehension of passages, that is, understanding the content of a passage and choosing appropriate words, phrases and expressions.

Admission to MBA and MMS seats in Maharashtra runs through the CET Cell's Centralised Admission Process (CAP), on the MBA/MMS CAP portal. These are the steps of CAP 2026-27, which is last cycle for this page.

1. Register on the CAP portal and upload documents, from 2 to 19 July 2026. Candidates who registered for the CET pay no CAP fee. A candidate with a valid CAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA, MAT or GMAT score who did not register for the CET pays Rs 1,500, or Rs 1,300 for reserved categories and PwD candidates from Maharashtra.
2. Choose how your documents are verified. In E-Scrutiny you upload documents from anywhere and a designated centre verifies them online. In physical scrutiny you visit the facilitation centre you picked, at your time slot. An application that is not confirmed is rejected, and the candidate appears in no merit list, for CAP or for institute-level admission.
3. The provisional merit list came out on 22 July, grievances ran from 23 to 25 July, and the final merit lists came out on 27 July. The portal publishes separate lists for Maharashtra candidates, All India candidates and defence candidates.
4. Fill the option form for the round. Once you confirm it, you cannot change or cancel the options.
5. After allotment, self-verify the seat through your login. In Round I, a seat that matches your first preference is frozen automatically. If you got another preference you can accept and freeze it, which takes you out of later rounds, or accept it and choose Not Freeze or Betterment to try for a better seat. In Round II the automatic freeze applies to your first three preferences, and in Round III to your first six.
6. Pay the seat acceptance fee of Rs 1,000 online at your first seat acceptance only. It is a non-refundable processing fee.
7. Report to the allotted institute with your documents. Your admission is official only after the institute verifies your original documents and eligibility and issues the online receipt. In Round IV, a first-time allotment, a betterment or a retained seat is final.
8. Seats left after CAP, and institute quota seats, are filled at institute level. You must first have registered and had your documents verified. You then apply directly to colleges or fill the institute-level option form on your login, and each college publishes a merit list and admits from it, following the admission rules in the information brochure.

Seat types in the seat matrix

The CET Cell's seat distribution lists, for each course, the sanctioned intake and the Maharashtra State seats, All India seats, minority seats and institute seats. Maharashtra State seats are shown as Home University and Other than Home University seats, or as State Level seats, depending on the institute. Within them the seat matrix shows category seats for open, SC, ST, VJ/DT, NT-B, NT-C, NT-D, OBC and SEBC, and also seats for EWS, TFWS, PwD, defence and orphan candidates.

Certificate receipts and verification

• If you registered with a receipt instead of the tribe validity, EWS or non-creamy layer certificate, you must verify the original at a scrutiny centre and give it to the admitted institute by the last reporting date of Round IV. Otherwise the admission is cancelled automatically and you are treated as an Open category candidate in later institute-level rounds.
• Candidates who registered with a receipt for the caste validity certificate verify the original at a scrutiny centre within the timelines of the General Administration Department resolutions of 2 July 2026 (OBC and SEBC) and 4 September 2026 (SC, VJ/DT, NT and SBC).
• A candidate registered in a reserved category who cannot produce the certificate at verification pays the difference in fee of Rs 200 online.
• Document verification stays open on all days, including Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm.

The CET Cell's revised provisional seat distribution of 27 July 2026 lists 399 institutes and 431 course entries (62 of them M.M.S., the rest M.B.A. and its variants). It shows 52,679 sanctioned seats, of which 50,062 are CAP seats: 38,932 Maharashtra State seats, 7,220 All India seats and 3,910 minority seats. The other 2,617 are institute-level seats.

After CAP Round IV, the CET Cell's provisional vacancy position of 8 September 2026 shows 15,503 CAP seats still vacant, in a list of 412 institutes. The CET Cell notes that the vacancy position may vary because of cancellations.

CAP Round I cut-offs, 2026-27

The CET Cell publishes a cut-off list after each CAP round, for All India seats and for Maharashtra and minority seats. In the Maharashtra list the figure is the State General merit number, with the merit score in brackets. The CET Cell's CAP brochure for 2025-26 says All India candidates for first-year management are ranked on their percentile in the CET, CAT or CMAT, so the merit score is a percentile and an All India figure can come from any of those exams. The table gives the first eleven entries of the Round I All India list, which runs from the highest cut-off down. Maharashtra figures are for the General Open category. Percentiles are rounded to two decimals from the CET Cell's seven-decimal figures.

These are Round I figures. The CET Cell also published lists for Rounds II, III and IV and for the other categories, such as SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD and defence, which are on the CAP portal.

The CET Cell's provisional vacancy position after CAP Round IV (8 September 2026) names 412 institutes with CAP seats in 2026-27. The revised seat distribution of 27 July 2026 had 399, and the vacancy lists published after it added the other 13. The list is sorted by location. Where the CET Cell's name has no place, the location shows Maharashtra.
