Chhattisgarh Pre-Engineering Test (CG PET) 2027

CG PET is the Chhattisgarh Pre-Engineering Test, the state B.Tech entrance exam run by CG Vyapam; dates for the 2027 cycle are not announced yet. The Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CG Vyapam) conducts the PET for the Directorate of Technical Education to set merit for B.E./B.Tech admission in Chhattisgarh institutions; the 2026 notice also covers B.Tech (Agriculture Engineering), B.Tech (Food Technology), B.Tech (Dairy Technology) and Diploma in Dairy Technology. Under the state's B.Tech admission rules, seats are filled from a PET merit list and a JEE (Main) merit list through online counselling. The 2026 test (PET26) was held on 14 May 2026 at centres in 33 district headquarters; the documents opened give no candidate or seat numbers.

2026 cycle for reference (PET26): online application 2 to 27 March 2026 (until 5:00 p.m.), error correction 28 to 30 March 2026, admit card around 4 May 2026 (probable date in the notice), exam on 14 May 2026 (Thursday), model answers on 26 May 2026 and claims or objections until 1 June 2026, 3:00 p.m., at ₹50 per question.

Merit lists and seat allotment

The PET merit list ranks candidates by the percentage of marks scored in PET; among equal percentages, the older candidate ranks higher. Seats are allotted first to Chhattisgarh-domicile candidates by the PET merit list and then by the JEE (Main) merit list; the remaining seats go to candidates from outside the state in the same order. 15% of seats in private institutions are management quota, and 50% of seats in notified minority private institutions are for minority candidates.

1. Register a candidate profile on the Vyapam portal: mobile number, password, email ID, name in capitals, parents' names, gender, date of birth as in the Class 10 certificate, category, Chhattisgarh domicile and district, disability status, special category if any, nationality, marital status and address.
2. Upload a recent photograph with a light background and a signature, each as JPG/JPEG of 50 to 100 kB, in the profile.
3. Open the PET application inside the profile: enter the Class 12 board name, roll number and passing year (the form opens only for candidates who state they hold the B.Tech qualification), disability and scribe details, and the preferred exam district and city.
4. Pay the exam fee online (two payment gateways; UPI, debit card, credit card or net banking), then press Submit; the application is not valid without Submit. Keep a printout.
5. Correct errors within 3 days after the last date; the prescribed fee is payable for corrections, and basic data changes need a profile update.
6. Download the admit card from the profile about 7 days before the exam; carry the printout and an original photo ID (voter ID, driving licence, PAN or Aadhaar).

• Chhattisgarh-domicile candidates who appear in the exam get the fee refunded to the paying bank account.
• Documents at application: photograph, signature, email ID, mobile number and the Class 12 roll number.
