Quick Actions
Overview
The Common Entrance Test (CET) of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), New Delhi, known as IPU CET, is the university's own entrance test for many undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma programmes. It is a set of tests: programmes with a common syllabus are grouped and given a programme code. Other programmes are filled through national exams or on merit, as the 2026-27 admission brochures list. CET-2026 for the 2026-27 session was held in slots from 25 April to 4 July 2026, followed by a Special Entrance Test (SET-2026) on 15 September 2026. No CET 2027 notice has been published yet.

Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility for IPU CET depends on the programme: each programme code has its own qualifying degree, subjects and minimum marks in Chapter 2 of the UG and PG brochures. The general rules in the 2026-27 brochures are below.
| Criterion | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Citizenship | Indian citizens, Overseas Citizens of India and Nepal citizens apply through these brochures; other international students use a separate brochure from the Office of International Affairs |
| Qualifying examination | Programme-specific; lateral-entry programmes need a diploma (B.Tech, B.Pharm) or a B.Sc. degree as their names state |
| Appearing candidates | Can apply: the form's Appearing option covers candidates appearing in the qualifying exam, and the brochure has rules for result-awaited cases |
| Delhi or outside Delhi | Applicants choose Delhi Region if they passed the qualifying exam from a Delhi institution or one affiliated to GGSIPU, otherwise Outside Delhi; a wrong choice can cancel admission |
- CET and national-test scores are used only for the programmes in the tables above; the order of tests in the brochure is the order of priority.
- Where CUET is a listed route, the candidate registers for CUET separately.
- The university offers 25% supernumerary seats to international students under a separate brochure.
- Applicants register and pay the application fee online; CET results or national-test merit then lead to centralised counselling.
- Reservation (SC, ST, OBC, PwD, EWS, defence), single girl child, sports and orphan quotas, and management quota are covered in separate chapters of the brochures.
