Overview
The Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) process is run by the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Government of Kerala, for admission to professional degree courses in the state: engineering, architecture, pharmacy, medical and allied courses, agriculture, forestry, veterinary and fisheries. A computer-based KEAM entrance examination is held for Engineering and B.Pharm; architecture uses scores in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), and medical and allied courses use NEET (UG) scores. KEAM 2027 has not been announced yet, so the details below are as per the KEAM 2026 prospectus and are labelled that way.
In KEAM 2026, 96,747 candidates appeared for the Engineering entrance examination, 79,788 qualified and 65,438 were included in the rank list. It was held as a computer-based test from 17 to 22 April 2026 at 197 venues across Kerala and in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kuwait, Bahrain and Sharjah.

Application
Applications are accepted only online through the CEE website, and a candidate submits one application for all the courses selected. Defects found in the application appear in the candidate portal and must be cleared within the time notified by CEE; candidates other than SC, ST and OEC upload an income certificate to claim income-based fee concession or scholarship.
Allotment
CEE runs centralised online allotment in phases, and option confirmation is mandatory to take part in each phase. On 5 October 2026 its home page listed the second-phase stray vacancy allotment for B.Pharm, second-phase allotment to Ayurveda, Homoeo, Siddha, Unani and medical allied courses, and fresh option registration for the third phase of MBBS and BDS allotment.

- A normalised entrance score of at least 10 is needed for the Engineering rank list; SC and ST candidates have no minimum score but must answer at least one question.
- SC candidates pay Rs 400 and ST candidates nothing for the Engineering application, against Rs 925 for general candidates.

Exam Pattern
The KEAM entrance examination is a Computer Based Test of multiple-choice questions. Each question has five suggested answers, of which one is the most appropriate.

- Marking: four marks for each correct answer, one mark deducted for each wrong answer and nothing for an unanswered question; a candidate who answers no question is disqualified from the rank list.
- Normalisation: the test runs in several sessions with separate question sets, so scores are normalised by the Percentile Interpolated Average Method; the prospectus gives the normalised entrance score as out of 300.
- Qualifying score: a normalised score of at least 10 for the Engineering rank list; no minimum for SC and ST.
- Exam day (planned in the 2026 prospectus): reporting 12:00 pm, entry from 1:30 pm, mock test 1:45 pm, last entry 1:50 pm, exam 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm; admit card, photo ID and a transparent ball-point pen are allowed and rough-work paper is provided.
- Syllabus: unit-wise syllabi for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry are in the prospectus; Mathematics starts with Unit I: Algebra.
