For 2026-27 AVIT lists annual tuition of Rs 2,00,000 for B.E. computer science and engineering (including its AI and ML, cyber security and data science variants) and electronics and communication, Rs 1,00,000 for civil, biomedical, electrical and electronics and mechanical, and Rs 1,25,000 for B.Tech. biotechnology. A career advancement fee of Rs 17,500 in year one and Rs 15,000 from year two is extra.

For 2026-27, full-time M.E. and M.Tech. tuition is Rs 30,000 a year, with a skill lab and development fee of Rs 23,600 a year (including 18% GST) and a miscellaneous fee of Rs 10,250 in year one. The two-year MBA at AVIT, Paiyanoor, has annual tuition of Rs 70,000 in VMRF's 2026-27 admission instructions.

B.E. and B.Tech. admission is by merit counselling run by VMRF's Admission Monitoring Committee on Class 12 marks, and valid JEE Main scores are also taken. VMRF-SMART, the university's own test, sets scholarship ranks but candidates with a JEE Main score can skip it. M.E. and M.Tech. give preference to GATE; the MBA is on bachelor's degree marks. VMRF-SMART is the Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation Students' Merit Assessment and Ranking Test for engineering, hosted by AVIT. For 2026-27, a state or UT rank of 1-100 brought tuition down from Rs 2,00,000 to Rs 1,10,000 for the CSE group and ECE, and ranks 101-500 to Rs 1,30,000. The 2026-27 exams were held on 26 January and 24 April 2026 and the application fee was Rs 500.

The 2026-27 hostel tables for Vinayaka Mission's Chennai Campus, which cover accommodation, laundry and mess and are paid yearly, run from Rs 95,280 (non-AC six sharing) to Rs 4,23,780 (A/C single room); non-AC four sharing is Rs 1,06,680 and non-AC double sharing Rs 1,45,530. A refundable hostel deposit of Rs 10,000 applies to the 2026-27 batch.

AVIT's AICTE mandatory disclosure shows 147 undergraduates placed in 2024-25 across nine programmes, including 58 in computer science and engineering, and 39 MBA students placed. It gives no graduating-batch size, so no placement percentage can be worked out, and its salary table carries no batch year. Recruiters named on the placement page for the 2022-2026 batch include Hexaware Technologies, VisAI Lab and Pragyashal Cloud Solutions.

AVIT is a constituent college of Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation, a deemed-to-be-university, and its mandatory disclosure lists no separate affiliating university. VMRF holds NAAC grade A with a CGPA of 3.13 on the four-point scale in its second cycle, with a certificate dated 12 July 2022 valid up to 11 July 2027.
