For students admitted in 2026-27, tuition is Rs 2,91,500 a semester, so Rs 5,83,000 a year, with a one-time admission fee of Rs 64,100. The same schedule covers every first-degree programme at the Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses. Tuition rises every year: the 2026-27 batch pays Rs 3,06,000 a semester in 2027-28. BITS has not published the fee for students admitted in 2027-28.

2026-27: Rs 36,000 for each of the two semesters (Rs 72,000 a year), plus Rs 18,000 for the summer term if a student registers for it. A mess and electricity advance of Rs 10,000 and other advances of Rs 12,000 are payable at the start of each semester and adjusted at its end. The fee applies to on-campus students at the Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses.

B.E., B.Pharm. and M.Sc. admission is through BITSAT, and BITS Pilani does not use JEE Main scores. BITS has not announced BITSAT 2027 dates (checked 15 October 2026); its admissions site says the 2027-28 first-degree cycle will open in December 2026 (tentatively). For BITSAT 2026, applications opened on 15 December 2025, Session-1 was on 15 and 16 April 2026 and Session-2 on 25 to 27 May 2026.

BITS reports, for AY 2024-25, more than 2,490 students placed by over 615 recruiters, with an overall median of Rs 19.05 lakh and an average of Rs 22.28 lakh a year. These figures are for BITS Pilani as a whole, not the Pilani campus alone. In its NIRF 2025 data, 2,458 of 2,759 four-year UG graduates of the 2023-24 batch were placed, at a median of Rs 18 lakh a year.

NIRF 2025 ranks BITS Pilani 7th in the University category, 11th in Engineering, 16th Overall, 2nd in Pharmacy and 18th among Research Institutions. NAAC accredited it at A++ with a CGPA of 3.68 (fourth cycle); the certificate is dated 29 November 2024 and valid up to 28 November 2029.

From AY 2026-27 the top 500 BITSAT rankers with a family income up to Rs 20 lakh get full tuition for four years, if they keep a CGPA of 7.5. Other first-degree students can get semester tuition waivers: merit awards of 100% (top 2%) or 50% (next 1%), and merit-cum-need awards of 100% (top 5%), 50% (next 2%), 25% (next 5%) or 10% (next 10%). There is no waiver of the admission fee.

BITS Pilani is a Deemed to be University, set up under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 by a notification of 18 June 1964. The Government of India declared it an Institution of Eminence on 1 October 2020. BITS says it has no management quota and no reservations.

Pilani offers 11 B.E. branches, B.Pharm., seven M.Sc. programmes, 16 M.E. specialisations, two M.Pharm. specialisations and an MBA in Business Analytics in the 2026-27 cycle. B.E. Biotechnology, Architectural and Urban Engineering, and Robotics and Industrial Automation are offered only at Dubai, and B.E. Electronics and Computer Engineering only at Goa and Dubai. M.E. Thermal Engineering is only at Hyderabad.

M.E. and M.Pharm. admission is on a GATE or GPAT score, the BITS HD test, or both, with at least 60% in the qualifying degree; the 2026 HD test was on 25 and 26 May 2026. The MBA in Business Analytics uses the BAAT (22 March 2026 for the 2026 intake) and a personal interview. BITS has not published 2027 dates for any of these (checked 15 October 2026).

Admission to B.E., B.Pharm. and M.Sc. at BITS Pilani is through BITSAT, followed by an online preference form with Class 12 marks. M.E. and M.Pharm. admission is through the BITS HD test or GATE/GPAT, and the MBA in Business Analytics uses the BAAT and an interview. BITS has not published 2027 dates (checked 15 October 2026); it says the 2027-28 first-degree cycle will open in December 2026 (tentatively).
