About Lok Jagruti Kendra University
Lok Jagruti Kendra University, branded LJ University, is a private university in Ahmedabad, on the LJ Campus off S.G. Road. The Gujarat Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2019 (Gujarat Act No. 19 of 2019) established it, effective 25 September 2019, and the UGC lists it among universities under section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. It is sponsored by the Lok Jagruti Kendra Trust, set up in 1980, and unifies 13 of the trust's institutions. NAAC accredited the university at B++ grade (CGPA 2.78) on 31 October 2025, valid up to 30 October 2030.
The university runs diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes in engineering, management, pharmacy, architecture and planning, computer applications, sciences, design, media, physiotherapy, commerce, and sports and event management. Its 2025-26 admission table lists 16,024 enrolled students against a combined intake of 5,324, with the largest programmes being B.E. and Diploma in Engineering (900 seats each), MBA (500), and MCA and B.Com (400 each). B.E., M.E., B.Pharm, M.Pharm, MBA and MCA admissions run through the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), Gujarat, using GUJCET or JEE Main, GATE, GPAT or PGCET, and CMAT, MAT or CAT as applicable. The five-year integrated MBA is admitted through the university's own LJMAT, and programmes such as MSc IT, B.Com, BBA Sports and BBA Events are filled on Class 12 or final academic record marks.
