Moti Lal Nehru Medical College

Moti Lal Nehru Medical College (MLNMC) is a Government of Uttar Pradesh medical college at George Town, Prayagraj, dedicated to the memory of Pandit Moti Lal Nehru. Its foundation stone was laid on 5 May 1961 by Dr Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India, and the first batch of 50 undergraduate students was admitted on 1 August 1961. The college is affiliated to Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Lucknow, and is approved by the National Medical Commission. Its main teaching hospital is Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) Hospital, alongside SN Children Hospital, MD Eye Hospital and urban and rural health centres.

Undergraduate admission rose from 50 in 1961 to 100 in 1967, 150 in 2013 and 200 in 2019. MD and MS courses began in 1967 and diploma courses in 1968; MD and MS admissions were raised to 167 in 2023. DM Gastroenterology started in 2010, and DM admission is 8 seats, four each in Gastroenterology and Neurology. MD seats include Paediatrics (10 a year), Psychiatry (2, from 2020) and Radiodiagnosis (4, from 2022); the NMC permitted an MD in Radiotherapy in 2022, and Radiodiagnosis also runs a DNB course (4 seats, 2021). The college has a College of Nursing, a 24-month laboratory technician diploma in the Pathology department and a Medical Research Unit permitted in March 2022. MBBS admission is through NEET UG and counselling; postgraduate admission is through NEET PG counselling.
