About Moradabad Institute of Technology

Moradabad Institute of Technology (MIT) is a self-financed engineering and management institute at Ram Ganga Vihar, Phase II, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. The Moradabad Educational Trust, set up in 1995, started it in 1996 as the city's first engineering institute, among the first three self-financed technical institutes in the state. The campus covers 13.012 acres with 38,495 square metres built up across seven academic blocks. MIT is approved by AICTE, whose approval letters on the institute's site run from 1996-97 to 2026-27, and is affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. Its Computer Science and Engineering programme is listed as NBA-accredited in the 2025-26 AICTE disclosure, and NAAC graded the institute A in its first cycle after a peer visit on 24-25 March 2021.

The AICTE-approved programmes for 2025-26 are eight four-year B.Tech branches: Computer Science and Engineering with 180 seats; its Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Internet of Things and Data Science specialisations with 60 seats each; and Civil, Electrical, Electronics and Communication, and Mechanical Engineering with 30 seats each. The two-year MBA and MCA and the three-year BBA and BCA have 60 seats each. Seats are filled through UPTAC counselling run by AKTU, where MIT's college code is 082: B.Tech uses JEE scores, BBA and BCA use CUET-UG, and MBA and MCA use CUET-PG. Vacant seats are filled by special counselling or management quota.
