About Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology
Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT) is a state agricultural university in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The Government of Rajasthan's list of state-funded universities gives its establishment date as 1 November 1999, and the UGC's list of state universities records it at Udaipur 313 001. The National Institute Ranking Framework placed it in the 51-100 rank band among State Public Universities in 2025. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research accredited the university at Grade B for the period 28 March 2021 to 27 March 2026.
ICAR's accreditation list names six constituent colleges: Rajasthan College of Agriculture, the College of Technology and Engineering, the College of Dairy and Food Technology, the College of Fisheries and the College of Community and Applied Sciences, all in Udaipur, and the College of Agriculture at Bhilwara. The College of Technology and Engineering teaches the university's B.Tech and M.Tech programmes. The other colleges offer B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons.) Community Science, B.Sc. (Hons.) Food Nutrition and Dietetics, B.Tech Dairy Technology, B.Tech Food Technology and B.F.Sc. Fisheries, with M.Sc. programmes in ten agriculture disciplines and five home science disciplines, and Ph.D. programmes in the same fields. Seats in the ICAR quota are filled through CUET (UG) and ICAR counselling.
