About SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Chandigarh
NMIMS Chandigarh is the Chandigarh campus of SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), a deemed-to-be university run by the Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM). It is in Education City, Sarangpur, Chandigarh (160014), opposite the Botanical Gardens. The campus site says the foundation stone was laid on 12 October 2009 and that the campus became academically operational in 2021. The university's own page says NMIMS was recognised as a deemed-to-be university in 2003 and received Category-I autonomy in 2018.
The campus has three schools: the School of Technology Management and Engineering (B.Tech in Computer Engineering and B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science)), the School of Commerce (BBA and B.Com) and the School of Law (B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and BBA LL.B. (Hons.)). The campus accreditation page states that all STME programmes are approved by AICTE and that the School of Law programmes are approved by the Bar Council of India; the campus page also names UGC among its approving bodies.
For the 2026-27 intake, admission went through the NMIMS entrance tests: NMIMS-CET for B.Tech, NMIMS-NPAT for BBA and B.Com, and NMIMS-LAT for the two law programmes (the campus site also lists CLAT for law). The handout also schedules a campus counselling round at Chandigarh in June 2026. The university's NAAC certificate of 28 June 2025 gives grade A++ with a CGPA of 3.67 on a four-point scale, valid up to 27 June 2032; the certificate names the university at Vile Parle, Mumbai, and the Chandigarh pages do not repeat it.
The university handout prints Chandigarh fees only for the 2025 batch: Rs 2,75,000 a year for both B.Tech programmes, Rs 3,00,000 for BBA, Rs 1,25,000 for B.Com and Rs 2,00,000 for each law programme, marked for reference only. The campus site lists separate hostels for male and female students with two-sharing rooms and mess charges included in the hostel fee, but no hostel amount.

- B.Tech: English as a compulsory subject with science or vocational science and at least 45% in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry, or a diploma in engineering with at least 45%. NMIMS-CET covers Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, plus logical and verbal reasoning (120 questions, 120 minutes).
- BBA and B.Com: at least 50% aggregate in Class 12 or equivalent; NMIMS-NPAT has quantitative, logical and verbal reasoning sections (120 questions, 100 minutes). The BBA page lists an intake of 120 and the B.Com page 60.
- Law: at least 50% aggregate in Class 12 or equivalent, on NMIMS-LAT; the campus site also lists CLAT for its law programmes. Each law page gives 60 seats.
- Applicants register on the NMIMS site, choose the test category, school and campus preferences, and pay a registration fee that depends on the schools chosen; a candidate can sit each test up to three times.
