Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University

Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University is a state university in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, founded in 1964 and named after the first chief minister of the erstwhile Madhya Pradesh. Its campus at Amanaka on G.E. Road covers 309.16 acres. The university's jurisdiction covers the central and southern part of the state; its About page lists 161 affiliated institutions and about 203,177 undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in 2024-25. NAAC accredited the university at A+ grade (CGPA 3.34 on a four-point scale) on 8 August 2025, valid up to 7 August 2030. In the NIRF 2025 State Public Universities category it falls in the 51-100 rank band.

Thirty-two teaching departments run on the campus, where 88 faculty members teach 3,000-3,500 students. The postgraduate list includes M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., MBA, MCA, LL.M., M.Ed., M.P.Ed., MSW, M.Lib.I.Sc., M.Pharm. and an M.Tech. in Optoelectronics and Laser Technology; M.Com., M.A. Sindhi, M.Sc. Forensic Science and M.Sc. Renewable Energy and Technology were introduced in 2024. Undergraduate programmes include B.Pharm., B.A.LL.B., B.Ed., B.P.Ed., B.Lib.I.Sc., B.Voc., and the four-year integrated B.A.B.Ed., B.Sc.B.Ed. and B.Com.B.Ed. started in 2024. The National Education Policy 2020 has applied to the campus courses since 2024-25. Ph.D. admission is through the university's own Ph.D. entrance test.
