Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital

Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital is a municipal medical institution at Acharya Donde Marg, Parel, Mumbai. The medical college and King Edward Memorial Hospital date from 1926, and the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai funds the institutions mainly. The college is affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. In its NMC mandatory-information proforma the college describes itself as government, with permanent MBBS recognition for 250 seats under a recognition letter dated 22 March 2018. The institution reports about 2,000 students across undergraduate, postgraduate and super-speciality medical courses, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, and master's and Ph.D. programmes. Under the National Policy for Rare Diseases 2021 the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has designated KEM Hospital as one of eight national centres for rare diseases.

Teaching covers MBBS with 250 seats, MD, MS and diploma courses, DM and M.Ch. super-speciality programmes, B.P.Th., B.O.Th., M.P.Th. and M.O.Th., a B.Sc. in paramedical technology, a postgraduate diploma in medical laboratory technology, an M.Sc. in applied biology, Ph.D. programmes and MUHS fellowships. Departments range from anatomy, physiology and biochemistry to cardiology, neonatology, nephrology, neurosurgery and plastic surgery. MBBS seats are filled on NEET (UG) 2026 scores through counselling under the all-India and Maharashtra state quotas, and DM and M.Ch. seats go to candidates selected through NEET Super Speciality. The college does not appear in the NIRF 2025 list of the top 50 medical institutions.
