JEE Main. The 2026-27 prospectus ranks candidates by JEE Main All India Rank, and nine of the 18 branches also accept Class 12 PCM marks (Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology also accept NEET). After the first online counselling round on 16 May 2026, the General (outside Punjab) cut-off was AIR 53,883 (percentile 96.58) for Computer Science and Engineering (Patiala campus) and AIR 106,367 (percentile 93.16) for Computer Engineering. Cut-offs change in later rounds.

The 2026-27 fee document lists hostel rooms from Rs 34,600 to Rs 78,500 a semester (Rs 69,200 to Rs 1,57,000 a year) by room type and sharing, and a mess fee of Rs 26,900 a semester, tentative and based on actual consumption. The document notes that the hostel rates apply to 2025-26 and may be revised. First-year undergraduates get shared rooms; students living within 50 km are not eligible for hostels.

2026-27 merit scholarships are based on JEE Main rank and Class 12 marks: Merit Scholarship I (first 50 students, above 95% in Class 12) waives tuition and development fee, II (next 60, above 90%) waives tuition fee and III (first 10% of each branch, above 85%) waives half the tuition fee. A 30% or 20% tuition waiver applies to eight branches for PCM scores of 80% or 75%, and merit-cum-means scholarships cover family incomes up to Rs 10 lakh.
