About Vidyalankar Institute of Technology

Vidyalankar Institute of Technology (VIT) is an engineering and management institute in Wadala, Mumbai, and part of the Vidyalankar Group. It was established in 1999 at Dadar with three undergraduate programmes (Information Technology, Computer Engineering and Electronics Engineering) and later moved to its present 11-acre campus on Vidyalankar College Marg, Wadala (East). The institute is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and has held autonomous status for the ten sessions from 2022-23 to 2031-32. NAAC awarded it an A+ grade in 2019, and the National Board of Accreditation has accredited its Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Biomedical Engineering and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering programmes up to 30 June 2028.

Teaching is organised in departments of Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Management Studies. The institute offers four-year B.Tech. programmes in the five engineering branches, M.Tech. programmes, the two-year Master of Management Studies (MMS), which was its first postgraduate programme, and Ph.D. admission. First-year B.Tech. seats are filled through the Maharashtra Centralized Admission Process (CAP), together with Institute Quota and Against-CAP seats, and a separate direct second-year admission route is published. For 2026-27 the published CAP fee for an open-category first-year B.Tech. student is ₹2,03,000, made up of ₹1,76,521 tuition and ₹26,479 development fee.
