Vacancies for 2027-28
Annexure I of the notification, updated as on 29 September 2026, lists indicative vacancies State by State, split by SC, ST, OBC, EWS and unreserved with disability and ex-servicemen columns. The State-wise totals add up to 11,663 across 37 States and UTs. The corrigendum of 29 September 2026 states that the figures are indicative and that provisional allotment will follow the actual vacancies reported by the banks. A candidate can apply for one State or UT only, and one registration covers both the Preliminary and Main examinations. IBPS's CRP-CSA-XVI page also carries the information handout for the Preliminary, scribe guidelines with an online scribe declaration form, and a mock test link, all posted on 1 October 2026.

- Upper age relaxation: SC/ST 5 years; OBC (non-creamy layer) 3 years; persons with benchmark disabilities 10 years.
- Ex-servicemen and disabled ex-servicemen: actual service plus 3 years (8 years for disabled ex-servicemen from SC/ST), up to age 50.
- Widows, divorced and judicially separated women who have not remarried: up to 35 years (General/EWS), 38 (OBC) and 40 (SC/ST).

- Penalty: one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for each wrong answer in both phases; unanswered questions carry no penalty.
- Preliminary: candidates must qualify in each of the three tests by securing cut-off marks decided by IBPS; an adequate number of candidates in each category is shortlisted for the Main.
- The Main tests are not taken in a fixed sequence; changes in structure are announced on ibps.in.

How to Apply for IBPS Clerk 2026 (CRP CSA-XVI)
- Open ibps.in, go to the CRP CSA page and click the link to apply online for CRP-CSA-XVI.
- Click the new-registration option and enter the basic details; the system generates a provisional registration number and password (also sent by e-mail and SMS) so the saved form can be reopened and edited.
- Upload the photograph, signature, left thumb impression, hand-written declaration and Class 10 (SSC/SSLC) or equivalent certificate, plus any certificate required under clause K (ix); capture a live photograph by webcam or mobile phone.
- Check each entry with 'Save and Next'; no change is possible after 'Complete Registration'.
- Pay the fee online by debit card, credit card, internet banking, IMPS, cash card, mobile wallet or UPI.
