How scores are used

The score card shows only a percentile score, calculated as (Y/N) x 100, where Y is the number of candidates who scored less and N the number who appeared. Admission has two steps: take TANCET, then apply to the admitting authorities, which advertise separately. Eligibility Criteria

The criteria below are from the TANCET 2026 information brochure; the 2027 brochure may change them. They decide who can sit the test; the admitting authority decides eligibility for admission.

  • Answer sheet: shade the box with a black ball point pen only; sheets shaded in pencil are not evaluated. The question book has versions with unique serial numbers, which must be shaded on the answer sheet.
  • Score: reported as a percentile, not as raw marks.
  • Level: the brochure says questions are set at the undergraduate level.

How to Apply for TANCET 2027

TANCET 2026 registration was online only, at tancet.annauniv.edu/tancet. The 2027 registration has not opened; the steps below are from the 2026 brochure and advertisement.

  1. Register online and fill in the application with a good-quality, recent photograph.
  2. Pay the test fee online (Rs 500 for SC, SCA and ST candidates of Tamil Nadu; Rs 1,000 for others).
  3. Check the details on the portal, change them if needed and click Submit. The printout and other documents need not be sent.
  4. Download the hall ticket from the Anna University website; carry it to the test centre and keep it for counselling.
  5. After the results, download the score card within the notified window (27 May to 26 June 2026) and produce it at admission.
  6. Apply separately to the admitting authorities when they advertise MBA and MCA admission.
