Assam down town University, Guwahati

CST is a merit-based online test run by Assam down town University for diploma, bachelor and master applicants. Scores of 40-59, 60-89 and 90-120 marks give a 25%, 50% or 100% tuition fee waiver to candidates with at least 70% in the qualifying exam, and CST-based admission stays valid for 15 days from the result. CST 6.0 had a national sitting on 5 April 2026 and later sittings for Eastern India (10 May), Bhutan, Bangladesh and Nepal; the 2027 edition has not been announced (16 October 2026).

The CST page says the test does not apply to admission to physiotherapy, nursing, pharmacy, B.Design, B.Com, B.Sc Agriculture and forensic sciences. The 2026 seat list names 2 to 15 CST seats in most other programmes, such as B.Tech, BCA, MBA, MCA, M.Sc and allied health.

The programme pages list a merit scholarship on board or university marks (100% on all semesters at 95% and above, 50% at 90-94.9%, 25% at 80-89.9%), art and culture and sports scholarships (100% at national or international level, 50% state, 25% district), 50% of total semester fees for specially abled students, 100% of the last semester fee for AdtU alumni and 100% of the semester fee for economically backward classes.

The B.Sc Nursing page asks for 60% in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, medical fitness and a minimum age of 17 years on 31 December of the admission year, and says candidates should appear and pass the CEE entrance exam. It names no examining body or dates. The programme runs four years and the CST does not apply to nursing.

NAAC accredited AdtU in Cycle 2 at grade A+ with a CGPA of 3.34 on a four-point scale (certificate dated 9 May 2025, valid up to 8 May 2030). In NIRF 2025 it appears only in the Pharmacy list, in the 102-125 rank band.

The university's NIRF 2026 data sheet for the 2024-25 graduating batch reports 1,220 of 1,512 graduates placed: 489 of 618 in 3-year UG, 464 of 552 in 4-year UG and 267 of 342 in 2-year PG programmes. Median salaries were Rs 4,50,000, Rs 5,20,000 and Rs 6,50,000 for those groups. The placement page shows recruiter logos such as Amazon, Cognizant, Genpact, Axis Bank and Apollo Hospital but no highest or average package.

Assam down town University is a private university in Guwahati, established by the Assam Down Town University Act, 2010 (Assam Act No. VIII of 2010) of the Assam Legislative Assembly and sponsored by the down town Charity Trust. It is UGC recognised and NAAC A+ accredited.

The university lists programmes in 11 faculties: B.Tech (Civil, Mechanical, Computer Science and five Computer Science variants), BBA and BCA variants, B.Design, B.Sc Nursing, B.Pharm, physiotherapy, optometry, allied health, BA programmes and B.Com, MBA, M.Tech, MCA, M.Pharm, M.Sc, MA and M.Sc Nursing at master level, and diplomas in pharmacy, nursing, dialysis, medical laboratory, radiology and hotel management.

AdtU takes applications online at apply.adtu.in (the site shows Admission 2026-27 as open) or through its admission office, and admits most programmes on Class 10, Class 12 or graduation marks; B.Sc Nursing also asks for the CEE entrance exam, and the Common Scholarship Test (CST) gives tuition waivers and CST-based admission. The 2027-28 schedule and the next CST dates are not published (checked 16 October 2026).

Depending on the course, admission to Assam down town University, Guwahati is through AdtU CST.
