About Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology
Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT) is a private autonomous engineering and management institute at Gandipet, Hyderabad, Telangana. A group of professionals from engineering, medicine, law and management promoted it in 1979, and it began with three engineering degree courses for 200 students. The institute is affiliated to Osmania University, approved by AICTE and has held UGC autonomy since 2013-14. Its campus covers 50 acres. NAAC accredited CBIT in its third cycle with an A++ grade (CGPA 3.59) on 10 June 2023, valid until 9 June 2028, and NIRF 2025 placed it in the 151-200 band of the Engineering category.
The AICTE-approved intake listed on the CBIT site for 2024-25 covers 12 undergraduate programmes with 1,680 seats and 10 postgraduate programmes with 318 seats. Undergraduate options are B.E. in Civil, Mechanical, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, CSE (AI and Machine Learning), CSE (IoT and Cyber Security including Blockchain Technology) and Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design and Technology), and B.Tech in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology. Postgraduate programmes are the MBA, MCA and M.E./M.Tech courses in eight engineering areas. Seats are allotted through Telangana convener-quota counselling after TGEAPCET (B.E./B.Tech), TGPGECET (M.E./M.Tech) and TGICET (MBA and MCA), and the institute also notifies Category B admissions.
