The Kovai Kalaimagal Educational Trust, registered in 1992, started it in 2001. The college is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and AICTE's 2024-25 application report records that Anna University conferred academic autonomy on it in March 2019, valid until June 2029. The same report shows NAAC accreditation with a CGPA in the 3.01-3.25 band, which corresponds to an A grade.
