About CMR College of Engineering & Technology

CMR College of Engineering & Technology is a private, autonomous engineering and management college at Kandlakoya on Medchal Road, Hyderabad, set up by the MGR Educational Society, which dates itself to 2002. It occupies a 10-acre campus and is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad. The UGC extended its autonomous status for ten years, from 2025-26 to 2034-35, in a letter of 31 July 2025. AICTE approves its courses, the NBA has accredited several undergraduate engineering programmes (validity up to 30 June 2027) and the MBA programme (2023-24 to 2025-26), and a NAAC letter of February 2019 records an A grade (CGPA 3.11) with validity extended to 31 December 2019. In the NIRF 2025 Engineering list the college falls in the 201-300 band.

The college teaches B.Tech in civil, electrical and electronics, electronics and communication, mechanical and computer science engineering, with computer science split into core, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and data science branches. AICTE's 2025-26 approval gives sanctioned intakes of 750 in computer science and engineering, 360 in its AI and machine learning branch, 180 in data science, 120 in electronics and communication and 30 each in civil, electrical and mechanical engineering. Postgraduate courses are MBA (240 seats) and M.Tech in computer science, embedded systems, power electronics and structural engineering (12 seats each). B.Tech admission uses TS EAPCET rank, with 70% of seats under convener quota and 30% under management quota; M.Tech requires a relevant engineering degree and a valid GATE score, and the counselling code is CMRK.
